Chapter #9

Bad timing...

    by: Kingfisher Author IconMail Icon
"Oh, hey, Samuel." you say, not really expecting him here. "What are you doing here?"

"I did say that I may join you earlier" he says back, now looking at Terra with curiousity.

"Wow, Eric was right. You do work quickly." He continues, earning questioning looks from Terra at both you and Samuel. "Is she the same girl from the bus?"

"Hi. My name is Terra." she says.

"Ah, so it is the cute girl from the bus then."

"Cute, huh?" she asks with a sly smile.

"I never said that she was cute" you stammer, nervously

"Oh, so you don't think I'm cute then?" she says with false sadness

"I never said that either!" you retort

"He's right. Eric was the one that said you were cute. After watching you on the bus." Samuel responds, blatently.

"So your friend was watching us?" she asks

"I didn't know until after." You say, defensively. Hoping to god that this embarrasment would end, that everything would go back to that nice moment in the garden.

"It's fine." she says, almost shrugging it off, thankfully. "What I want to know is..." oh no

"Do you think I'm cute, [Your Name]?" she asks with puppy dog eyes.

At this point, it was obvious on how she was going to tease you. She probably thought that this was fun, seeing you stammer, waiting for you to say something just to turn it into another insult.

"Well..."

"You really shouldn't keep a lady waiting, [Your Name]." Samuel says, joining in on her game

You glare at him, as he just holds a faint smile and cold eyes behind his glasses.

"And what did he mean by 'You work fast'?" she adds to the fray "Are you courting other girls here too?" She said that a bit liuder than before, attracting a few glances and glares from nearby students also walking the grounds.

"Who said I was courting anyone!?" you say

"Oh, so you were just teasing me?"

This was torture. You would do anything to get out of this. You were seriouly considering faking a stomach bug and escaping to the infirmary.

Suddenly, Terra bursts out into laughter...

"You should see your face, [Your Name]" says Terra with a big smile.

"I'm seriously regretting this walk." you say under your breath

"Don't say that, [Your Name]" says Eric, who walks up to the three of you. "She's having a grand time of just teasing you."

"Seems the two of you have something in common" you retort, face no longer red of embarrasement.

"That's cold, [Your Name]" he says before directing his attention to Terra "By the way, my name's Eric. And you must be the lovely Terra." he says with a bow.

"Ah, so you were the one that was staring at me on the bus." she replies.

Eric immediately stands ups straight, mouth agape at you.

"You told her!?!"

"Nope. it was Samuel." you say back.

Eric then puts Samuel into a very familiar looking headlock at incredible speed.
You just watch for a moment as they go at it, Eric trying to hold Sam down.

"So these are your room-mates then?" Terra asks

"For better or worse." you say with a sigh

A few minutes pass as they continue. Apparently the keepers nearby didn't think of it as too much of an issue, which was fine since it wasn't what anyone could really call a fight. Eventually, Samuel seems to get a hold of Eric's lordly hair enough to mess it up, at which point Eric immediately retreats. It's not a surprise that he can just reach into his pocket and find a comb to deal with this situation.

Samuel get's off the ground, dusting off his clothes.

"Nice moves" you say

"I learned from the best" he says, watching Eric desperately try to fix his hair.

"Well, guys..." says Terra

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. "It's about time for the speech. Let's go"

2. "Shall we continue our walk?"

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
