You looked around the room. It was clearly Allie's room and you were in Allie's bed. Everything was just so girlie. You could see all of Allie's stuff. Then you looked at yourself, you hadn't changed but you were wearing Allie's clothing. The apparel had resized itself to fit your much larger frame, but the style screamed little girl. You wanted to see what you looked like, so you got out of bed and headed towards the mirror. To your surprise, you didn't see yourself dressed in Allie's clothes. You saw Allie dressed normally. You moved your hand to make sure the reflection was yours. Then you looked at yourself again, you could see your real body.
Next you walked over to the closet to see your clothes. They were outfits you had seen on Allie, but they were definitely big enough to fit you.
"If everyone sees me as Allie, I think I'll play along for a little while. I'll swap back a little later. What should I do first?"
You saw one of Allie's dolls on the bed. It was her favorite. You picked it up and pretended to play with it. You thought, "Hey what do you think the real Allie is doing?" Then it hit you. She is just a little girl. She doesn't know anything about being me. She'll make everyone think that I'm retarded."
In the other room, your mother was amazed. "With any of the things he could have done with the device, he swapped lives with Allie? Why would he do that? Well, if Jack wants to be a little girl. I'll indulge him."
Jack didn't know that it was his mother that left the device in his room for him to find. The device would work on anyone else but her. Now that Jack activated the thing, she was going to make sure he was going to get the full benefit of being someone else. In this case, of being Allie, a four-year-old girl who is still in pull-ups.
Jack ran out of Allie's room. He had to swap back with Allie before it's too late. Even if it was 'too late' he would have to minimize the damage.
When he turned the corner he ran into mom.
"Sweetheart, where are you going in such a hurry?" Mom asked.
"I am looking for All, I mean Jack."
"Jack isn't here. He left to see his friends."
"What???"
"You can see him later. But now let's get you dressed."
"I have to find him!"
"Not without shoes."
Before Jack knew it, Mom took the remote out of his hand and pulled him by the wrist back toward Allie's room. Jack pulled as hard as he could, but he couldn't get away from Mom. Like his reflection looked like Allie, his strength seemed to feel like Allie's.
Jack refused to go, until Mom gave him a hard swat on his backside. It was much more painful than he thought it should have been. Cowed, Jack walked where mom directed. he had to get the remote returned and swap back with Allie as soon as possible. he had no way of knowing that mom knew all about the remote and she would make sure he didn't get it. Not that she wouldn't dangle it in front of him so he thought he had a chance.
