Chapter #5

Gessen Girls' Academy

    by: GS96 Author IconMail Icon
It was a pretty normal day for Brandon. He was playing football in the park with his friends James, Tyler and Aaron. They were all 10 years old, but despite how young they were they were all pretty outgoing and smart for their age, thus their parents had no issue leaving them on their own. The only exception was Aaron, who was a bit unsure when he was alone.

What made today different, however was that Brandon had to take care of his little sister, Erin. Being only 6 years old, she was still pretty shy and would always cling to her bigger brother. Brandon really liked his sister's company, but he would often grow a bit tired of her childish and clingy behavior. She was currently waiting on a nearby bench, waiting for her brother to finish his game.

After a few more minutes, the boys tired themselves and all sit on the the bench Erin was staying.

"Man... Today was a really good game.", said Brandon.

"Totally. I can really imagine ourselves as professional football players in the future.", replied James.

"You maybe. I want to become a firefighter or an astronaut. I think it's way cooler what they do.",said Brandon back.

"Or a resercher."

"Aaron....You are really the only one who likes stuff like that. You need to be more daring."

"I-It's fine to sometimes go the safe route. Don't you agree Erin?"

"H-Huh? Y-Yeah."

"Come on... Asking my sister is so unfair. She would never do something unsafe. We were all like that when we were her age."

Being so young surely gave the young boys a wide variety of possible future jobs, form professional foortball or baseball player to archaeologist to doctor. But Tyler would always give the most unlikely jobs he could think of, especially from his cartoon that he would watch. And today was no different.

"Or how awesome will it be to become ninjas?"

The three boys sighed as Erin just looked a bit confused.

"Umm.... Tyler. I thought we told you already but we don't think that we could become that."

"Or princes..."

"Or pirates..."

'I know you said that, but....Behold!"

From his pocket he took out a small gold coin.

"An old lady I helped cross the street gave me this coin. She said it has the power to grant us one wish."

"Tyler....It's just a regular coin. She must've told you that because you thought magic exists."

Interrupting the conversation was Erin who asked:

"W-What's a ninja?"

"It's a group of warriors who fight from the shadows, to bring peace and justice to the people."

"Whoa....O want to be a ninja too!"

"Great. Now she also believes this.", groaned Brandon.

"Why the sour face? Don't you really wish to become ninjas?"

"Just make a wish and see for yourself. Besides, I don't think there could be a group of ninjas that would accept Erin. She is too small."

"Good point. Then...", he griped the coin firmly and shouted. "I wish we could become a group of ninjas that would also include Erin!"

At that moment, a bright light came from the coin as it enveloped the five. Moments later, they were gone.
