She slowly opened her eyes, initially seeing blurry but her vision slowly coming back. Once she
could see normally, she inspected her surroundings, finding herself in an eerily similar room than
the one she had been in before the transfer.
She tried to slightly move her body facing the door when she suddenly felt a rush of new (and foreign)
feelings.
She then realized something she hadn't anticipated : unlike the temporary transfers, where one could
retain his/her original body, while appearing to the world as the other person, the nexus included a body
exchange in the permanent transfers. Lisa hadn't read the details of the operation, but it was clearly stated
in the nexus guidelines that, in order for the "new occupants" of said bodies to acclimate quicker and accept
those new bodies as their own, they would get not only the "outside reflection" of the donor, but his/her entire
body.
It was then that, in a second, Lisa realized that not only did she now look, to the outside world, like Maria Lopez,
but she had now BECOME Maria Lopez : body, curves, birthmarks, tatoos and all.
Wondering what else had been swapped (skills ? memories ?), the former Lisa started to panic, and quickly fainted
on her seat.
