It had been a pretty typical day at Gekkoukan High for Yukari. Well, as typical as things get when you play double duty as a savior of the world and regular high school student. She had just collected her things from her shoe cubby and was heading down the walkway to the school gate, perhaps to spend some time at the mall today, when a familiar voice caught up to her.
"Excuse me, Takeba, do you mind if I speak with you for a moment?" Mitsuru said as she caught up with Yukari.
"Oh...hey, Senpai. You usually stay later at school than this. What's up?" Yukari asked.
"If you don't mind I'd like to ask for your assistance this afternoon. There is an urgent matter which requires our attention. Arisato and Yamagishi have already agreed to help," the class president responded. Yukari couldn't help but feel a little trapped. Mitsuru telling her that Minako and Fuuka had already agreed basically put her on the spot.
"Yeah, okay. No problem," Yukari said.
"Thank you," Mitsuru said, smiling casually.
So, rather than head to the mall as she originally planned, Yukari found herself boarding the monorail with Mitsuru back to Iwatodai proper. The two made it back to the dorm with no detours. Yukari followed Mitsuru up to the third floor, the one which the girls slept on, and towards Mitsuru's room. She opened the door and they made their way inside. Minako, Fuuka and Aigis were already there.
"Oh? Aigis is here too?" Yukari asked.
"Yes," Mitsuru replied. "In fact, she's the reason we're doing this at all. Since everyone is here I'll get straight to the point: Aigis, you have been performing extremely poorly in your academic responsibilities as a student and it's starting to draw attention."
"You'd think an advanced robot would be doing abnormally well in school," Minako said.
"That was my initial assumption too, but it seems Aigis has been putting an almost nonsensical lack of effort into her studies," Mitsuru responded.
"My function is to eliminate shadows. I have deemed the coursework supplied to the students of Gekkoukan High to be immaterial to this function," Aigis stated simply.
"Well it is most certainly not immaterial to your cover at the school. Some of the answers you have supplied on tests have been downright absurd. Luckily the staff merely thinks you are attempting to be humorous for now, but if this keeps up I don't know how long that impression will last," Mitsuru turned to the group at large. "Therefore, this afternoon we are going to help Aigis learn the importance of her studies, and hopefully some of the course material, by playing a little study game." Yukari could hear herself groan inwardly. She had missed out on the mall for this?
"Is this like the time you had us all go to summer school even though we did well on our exams?" Yukari asked. "And why doesn't Junpei have to suffer with us?"
"Do you honestly think that would help Aigis?" Mitsuru asked.
"Good point," Yukari responded.
"Besides, you haven't heard what the game is yet, and once you do I imagine you are going to be quite glad Iori isn't here," Mitsuru said.
"What do you mean by that?" Fuuka asked, sounding nervous. Yukari couldn't help but feel the same way.
"The game will work like this: you will pair off in to two teams. I will ask a member of a team a question from your grade's coursework. If that person answers correctly, we will move on. If they answer incorrectly, they must remove an article of clothing from their partner," Mitsuru explained.
"W-what!?" Yukari blanched. Minako and Fuuka looked shocked as well. Aigis remained impassive.
"I believe that having the consequences of your mistakes visited on your partner rather than yourself might help instill a message about the far reaching consequences your actions. In any case, once a person has answered correctly or incorrectly I will ask a question of someone on the other team. Then I will ask the other two members of the teams questions in the same way. We shall continue until one pair is completely naked," Mitsuru said. "I should warn you that the losing team will be justly punished." Yukari couldn't help but notice the mischievous glint in her senpai's eyes when she said that last bit, not unlike the look she got before one of her infamous "executions." She wondered what kinky S&M idea she had up her sleeve this time.
"Why...why do we have to take our clothes off, though?" Fuuka asked, reasonably.
"It is my belief that it will help emphasize the seriousness of this situation and will make sure you do not take these events lightly," Mitsuru explained.
"That's easy for you to say! You're the one keeping your clothes on!" Yukari fired back. Mitsuru considered her for a moment.
"A fair point, Takeba. It would be hypocritical of me not to participate in some way. Therefore, show that my concerns are unfounded and I will be the one to disrobe. If both players in a round answer correctly I will remove a piece of my clothing. However, since there are four of you and only one of me, I will consider more of my items viable. For instance, accessories such as this ribbon," Mitsuru pointed to her chest. "Will count for me, while they will not for you. I will also remove each piece of footwear individually, while I expect you to count pairs of shoes and socks as a single item," Mitsuru said. "Should you render me naked before another team has been stripped completely then no team will have to remove any more clothing and you may punish me in any way you see fit."
"Wait," Minako piped up. "Not to offend anyone or anything, but we're not exactly all on the same skill level here. So, what happens if a player answers wrong but their partner is already naked?"
"Oh, well we'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Mitsuru said lightly. Yukari couldn't helping thinking by the look in her eyes that she already had some ideas about that, though. The prospect of dares and forfeits was certainly weighing heavy on the group at large.
Yukari's head was spinning. This was insane! Mitsuru wanted them peeling clothes off each other in some weird study game? A big part of her wanted to just say no and leave the room, but she looked at Minako and Fuuka and they seemed rooted to the spot too. Aigis simply didn't care all that much. Mitsuru had this strange kind of commanding aura that made it very hard to say no.
"You should choose your partners now," Mitsuru said.
So it seemed like this was going to happen. No miraculous intervention was going to prevent it. She would just have to make the best of this situation and winning a battle started by choosing the right weapon. Yukari wondered who would best help her through this.
