Your search unfortunately turned up nothing, but as you turned to report back to Mikki you notice that her face is chalk white like she had seen a ghost.
"Is everything okay?" You ask her, a little worried about why she is acting like this.
"I found something I think you should see." Mikki tells you, her voice very much shaken. Her tone sends chills down your spine as your mind races trying to figure out what she has found. Without speaking another word, Mikki leads you across the field to what looks like an open spot of tall grass. She stops infront of an indentation in the grass & looks down at it. You stand to her right as you discover what Mikki has found.
Hidden in the tall grass appears to be some sort of Katana sword. The blade is completely black yet shines brightly even in the low sunlight. It feels like it is drawing you in as the two of you stare at it. Looking at the craftsmanship, this was no cheap replica found on the Internet. This blade is the real deal.
"You don't think this was what was used on Rebecca, do you?" Mikki asks, though deep down she already knows the answers.
"It's too much of a coincidence. Whoever took Rebecca's head must have used this somehow." You say, feeling a cold sweat building as you try to visualise in your head the moment Rebecca was attacked.
"We don't know that for sure yet. If it is, then why would they leave it behind?" Mikki questions. It does seem odd that the Thieves would leave their weapon of choice behind. You will both need to work hard to uncover the truth.
"It's hard to say. Maybe they were in a hurry to leave & dropped it. Or there could be something else that we don't know about this thing yet."
You kneel down in the grass & shakily reach your arms out to pick up the sword. You scoop your hands under each end of it & stand back up. You then move your right hand to grasp the hilt. As you do, for can feel it's power pulsing up your wrist. As you suspected, this does not appear to be any normal weapon.
