Chapter #6

Go somewhere safe to test it

You Decide to call an end to your search & return to Mikki's place with the sword before you overstay your welcome & risk running into trouble. On the way back, you both keep an eye out for any potential threats aswell as any police that might be patrolling. As far as they would be concerned, you are carrying an offensive weapon regardless of whether it is magical or not. Being stopped by the police could get you in trouble & also risk losing time in your own investigation.

Thankfully you make it back to Mikki's house safely & uneventfully. Mikki goes upstairs to check on Rebecca's body while you take a seat in the living room, sitting the sword down on the coffee table infront of you.

"She seems fine for now. She's just resting on the bed." Mikki informs you as she enters the living room. She takes a seat next to you on the couch & you both stare in wonder at the supposedly magic blade infront of you in silence.

"What are we going to do with it?" Mikki breaks the silence.

"I think we need to test it; figure out how it works." You say calmly. You had been thinking about the sword all the way home & what it could be capable of.

"Test it!? That thing has put Rebecca through hell today and you want to test it!?" Mikki protests. She has a point; assuming the sword really can magical cut without harm, it has been used to inflict a different kind of pain on your friend. However, you have your own ideas for how it can be used.

"I understand that, but if we can understand what this thing can do & what it's limitations are, it might help us take down whoever used it before." You try to explain to Mikki. You can tell she isn't happy with your idea, but you also know her well enough to tell that she is still open to being swayed. She would shut the idea down completely if she was truly against it.

"There's no guarantee it will help in the way you think it will. It could be dangerous." Mikki warns.

"If it means helping Rebecca & rescuing her head, then I'm fine with taking some risks." You tell her. You can see Mikki tossing the idea around in her mind as she feels conflicted on the matter.

"Urgh! Alright. If it will help Rebecca & stop those monsters that did this to her, then I guess I'm in." Mikki caves.

"So...Did you have an idea already on how we are going to test it?"
