"You have no problem walking with some stranger you just met?" smirked Greg, crossing his arms in an amused way. He hadn't met someone like this in quite some time. Samuel kind of smiled at him in return.
"Hey, I'm a Manakete. If something goes wrong, I can handle it. Besides, I think I hit my head somewhere, and wandering around aimlessly wouldn't do me any good." said Sam.
"Good points." nodded Greg. "Well, you can come, at least until you think you feel better."
"Sounds good." smiled Sam as the two shook hands briefly. After that, Greg immediately urged them to get to the next town. Along the way, Sam asked him if he knew what realm this was. Greg shook his head.
"Unfortunately, I don't. I haven't met many people since I left Kirada, my hometown. There aren't a lot of maps for this kind of thing." Greg chuckled to himself.
"Kind of easy-going for someone who's lost." muttered Sam.
"Speak for yourself." Greg retorted.
"Hey, I'm not easy-going, just a little cautious right now. Like I said, I don't remember what I was doing before." said Sam.
"But at least you remember home and all that, right?" asked Greg.
"Yeah, those are good." said Sam.
Nodding, Greg left it at that. He wanted to find the next town before nightfall. Luckily for them, the town soon came over the horizon, and not a second too soon. It was an average town, nothing too out of the ordinary there. People were still bustling along the streets, getting any needed supplies for the day. Sam flinched a but at the large amount of people.
"Shy?" smirked Greg.
"Manaketes don't generally hang around in human cities. We kind of stand out." said Sam who put his cowl over his head.
"I guess you would. If the ears don't stand out, the lack of aging would." chuckled Greg. "Hey, how old are you anyway?"
"Over 1000. Why?" asked Sam.
"Oh, no reason. Just curious. Manaketes really do age slowly, just like the books said." nodded Greg to himself. This little journey was already off to an interesting start, and it would only get weirder with these two.
