This choice: Jeff gets a text directed at Chloe. • Go Back... Suddenly, as Jeff was slowly dozing off, Chloe's phone made a noise, causing Jeff to wake up immediately. Thoughts started racing through his head.
If someone was texting Chloe, it meant he had to decide on a course of action. He could have either ignored it, and risked damaging Chloe's social life, or he could have pretended to be Chloe. Explaining the situation was, however much he would have liked it, impossible. It simply wasn't the kind of situation you could break to someone over the phone, and besides, the person on the other end probably had no reason to know about all this. No, there would be no talking about this to anyone until he had a plan.
He reluctantly got out of bed, slowly progressing towards the phone, while also learning to deal with the body he accidentally had taken. Being a girl seemed great when he was in bed, but standing up it became a careful balancing act. Being unaccustomed to Chloe's physique, which with its delicate limbs were to hold the weight hanging from his chest, he could only awkwardly limp towards the desk on which the phone was charging. Bumping against the bed, the floor, the dresser, and anything else he met on his way, repeatedly surprised him with how soft his skin now was. Being a boy, his skin was naturally tougher, and being raised a boy, his old body was used to much more than just a few stubs against a chair.
When he got to the desk, his mind still racing, he immediately set himself in Chloe's chair. He took one second to weave his thoughts back together, and took the phone in his hand, hoping it was just some alarm Chloe had set the night before.
This wasn't the case. It was one of Chloe's girlfriends, Katie evidently, checking whether Chloe was doing anything that day, and telling in a blunt way that she was coming over if not, because she had nothing to do and was bored. Jeff just answered "Sure, it will be fun. Come over whenever." and immediately dialled his own number, hoping he could contact Chloe and resolve the situation in a couple of minutes.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
