The way they caught the light, had Cameron wondering if the earrings were real diamonds. Holding them up, in the torch light, they looked expansive. The light fracturing into a rainbow, the gold woven around them was detailed, and also looked expensive.
Spotting a full-length mirror, Cameron took them over. Pulling the dust-cloth revealed the mirror properly. Leaning close until his nose was inches from the surface, Cameron smirked to himself.
Holding them up to his ears, he shifted his grip until it looked as if his ears were pierced. The earrings were restrained in their design, a simplicity that spoke of grace and refinement. The longer he looked the more feminine they appeared.
Hardly surprising, he told himself. Earrings weren't for men, well, not when these were put up here.
His thoughts scattered, as he felt two sharp, stings. His hands recoiling at the pain, Cameron was startled to see the earrings were now fixed in place. His earlobes, now proudly wearing them.
Half-afraid of being stung once more. His fingers tentatively returned to the earrings. Confirming what his eyes told him... His ears were pierced now, and decorated with the earrings.
Unsure, how it could have happened, he tried to tell himself the hook was sharp. He told himself, that he'd accidentally stabbed himself with them. Unaware of their proximity, he'd done it himself.
Deep down... and well, not very deep down, Cameron wasn't entirely convinced by his own logic.
