The physical bruises and attempted murder, Leo could abide; he and the witch were trying to kill each other, after all. That was business. But the mockery, that was starting to wear on his nerves. He knew that losing his head in a fit of anger could lead to losing his head in a more literal sense, so he wasn't about to do anything brash. However, to soothe his frayed nerves, he did spit out a harsh invective.
"Blasted coward! Stop hiding behind these tricks, and reveal your true form!"
The four Lydias smiled in unison, displaying mouthfuls of teeth that seemed less like dental work and more like razorblades. "As you like," one of them replied. "Trek to my temple, and we'll meet in person."
The reply was so unexpected that Leo immediately suspected a trap. "As if I'll simply walk into your temple? Do you take me for a fool?"
"Oh, my lost little Leo," Lydia purred sweetly. "I take you for a dead man. You forfeit your life the moment you came to my domain. I can easily end you right here. But...where would the fun be in that? Instead, I give you the opportunity to be graced with my presence. My servants will allow you to approach unmolested, and we can meet and discuss your fate. Why, I might even be tempted to allow you to live!"
"This is clearly a deception," Leo sneered, prepared to battle if she should move against him.
"Perhaps it is," she shrugged her tremendous shoulders. "But what choice do you have? If you fight, I'll rip you to pieces. This entire land is an extension of my will. And I won't allow you to leave the way you entered. If you want an opportunity to live long enough to end me, this is it."
