"There are a few people who could saw I 'owe' them. Mayhaps it's time I pay them back." Lydia ruminated. She vividly remembered the first person to interest her in the dark arts, a sociopath of a vampire she had encountered while still in the king's good graces. He was enough to satisfy her last time, and should she need any more power he would be the perfect victim. Lydia smiled a predatory smile. Yes, this could be a good idea. But there was always the possibility he was stronger than her.
"Nonsense!" Lydia exclaimed. Banishing the thought, she prepared to set out if only to prove herself the stronger one.
"Although there are others, who would be a somewhat safer bet," she murmured quietly. This required an internal admission of weakness to another, and Lydia the god did not like this sentiment. And besides, a lowly prison guard who had helped her escape a vengeful king or even the dragonslayers who had brought her to the king were nothing compared to her. She demanded a true rival!
