Karas was tired as it neared dark but she continued her march until she reached a road. Hunger compelled her to start taking some bites of the vegetation and start chewing as she tried to decide what to do next. It wasn’t likely the goblins had followed her this far, and even if they had they would slow their pace a great deal because roads were signs of civilizations that were a great danger to the small creatures. She knew that the bounties on goblins had increased in recent years so she felt a little safer as she found a spot to curl up under cover and wait until dawn.
Her eyes did not have the vision she was used to at night. It was very disorienting getting used to this new body and she had just been plowing through in her attempt to get away that she hadn’t noticed how different she was. The nice thing was that her field of vision was much better but the lack of a lot of depth perception and color was troublesome but they were compensated nicely by the improved sense of smell and hearing.
She wasn’t certain what her goal was, she no longer had the ability to speak anything intelligible to any of the sentient races. Karas had tried a couple goes as she slowed down but it was just a series of moos and bellows. Perhaps she would try more in the morning but exhaustion was taking hold for now so she was left to dream about her next step and hopefully not being the steak on someone’s dinner plate.
There was a small chance the spell would wear off but if that failed the chances began to get much smaller because how was she supposed to convince someone she was more than a cow and to help her with the problem.
