Eric fought the urge to sleep and summoned the rage inside to burn off the drugs, and charged down the trail of where they had come from and it wasn’t long before he discovered a small tribe of the creatures and he launched himself at them. His ax cleaved the first orcs head from the body and threw it at a second orc trying to grab a weapon ending the effort. Some of them might be berserkers but they were about to learn the dangers of a real berserker.
He roared as another orc moved towards him despite having no weapon he wasn’t worried because the rage gave him an unhealthy lack of fear. The hand ax of the orc dug into his shoulder but not much as his skin was like armor and his large grabbed hold of the enemy’s head and pressed his fingers into the eyes enjoying how they squished before throwing the orc to the ground. His foot crushed the skull and silenced the screaming as he pulled the hand ax and threw it with deadly accuracy into another enemy ending the charge.
Bodies and blood covered the encampment by the time he was done, and he collapsed as his rage ended and he finally allowed himself to slumber. His mind was filled with dreams where he saw his village burning as the King laughed and he felt the rage start to build inside of him again. King Emeril had betrayed him after all of the help he had given him over the years and he was paid back by having his loved ones slain. The nightmare woke him from his dream in a sweat and he needed to decide what to do next.
Dreams were important but what did it mean? Was it telling him if he failed to complete his quest the King would destroy all that he loved? Or was it something far more sinister, could the King be planning to take the land of his tribe for himself while the tribe’s greatest warrior was away? It was very much like the mind of a “civilized” people to betray people when you have given your word especially when you considered the people savages.
His mind was one to take a course and go after it so he narrowed his choices to three. Trust the King, don’t trust him and try to save his tribe and finally he could seek out a shaman to interpret the dream.
