Marina walked towards the portal along the enchanted path making sure to not stray from it. The work was worth it to prevent others from using the portal for evil purposes. It surprised her to see her fellow council member Ari and Ari's apprentice Hector. They were dressed and equipped for combat not ceremony which surprised and worried Marina more than she cared to admit. Their presence likely meant they were going to try and prevent her from using the portal because they were allied with the enemy.
"We can't let you go," Ari eyes almost looked pleading. "You're my friend but I will do everything in my power to stop you."
"I can understand Hector's betrayal because that weasel would sell out his own mother, but you have always been a true believer in the cause, so I ask you why you are doing this." Marina asked her friend.
"He has my family," tears welled in Ari's eyes. "He won't harm them if we stop you from leaving so please just don't go."
"If we work together we could easily save them."
"I can't take that chance," Ari threw a freeze spell at Marina but a barrier spell prevented it from taking effect.
"My turn," An evil grin covered Hector's face. A spell lashed out at Marina with great force shattering her barrier striking her with great force.
The change called to her to relent to its beckoning but it was quickly countered by her amulet of protection. Before the spell dissipated Marina gathered it up and shot it back at Hector with great joy. Shock covered Hector's face as his own spell overwhelmed him. The heat became overwhelming and he quickly through his robes to the ground. Hate filled his eyes as he realized he would soon be the buxom, horny wench he had intended Marina to become. Long blonde locks grew on his head as his chest heaved him forward with the weight of two large mounds which called gravity down upon him. His manhood was gone in a flash as new feelings began to fill his mind what little of it was left of her new mind.
"Serves you right for trying to do such a terrible thing. Now, for you my friend," Marina's voice had turned icier than Ari's freeze spell. Marina drained to of her energy containing rings to make sure her spell broke through. The ancient words flowed from her lips and soon her will gave life to them. "I shall change you back when I return, but take this time to reflect on the consequences your actions could have had.
Ari wanted to scream in frustration as the spell shattered her defenses and struck her but she found herself frozen in place as her muscles stiffened in place. She grew in size within moments ripping clothing leaving her naked but she didn't feel cold because the sun warmed her body. The skin on Ari's body began to get rough as it stiffened into bark. Her arms stretched to sky as they called out for life giving sunlight as leaves sprouted from the branches which had once been fingers. Soon she was robbed of her sight and left with her thoughts and the gentle breeze in the air.
Tears welled in Marina as she saw her friend turned into a tree but she repressed them because she had a job to do. She cast a small spell to guide the naked woman to the village safely and didn't bother dressing her because she wouldn't keep them on for long anyways. It would be amusing to see the villager's reaction to a naked woman walking into the village but she didn't have the time. The real question is how should she proceed with her journey? Marina had severly depleted her magic and she would be jumping into the heart of enemy territory, but if she used the portal she wouldn't have to fight through an army of Dreze's minions, and she didn't know how far Ari's deal with Dreze went. He could be planning to use the portal to bring his armies through so should she destroy it to be safe. It would be a tough choice.
