Chapter #3

"The animals were restless at first."

    by: Yote Author IconMail Icon
"The animals were restless at first... At first, that is, 'fore they became too weak. If given the opportunity they'd bolt for the hills like they was running for their lives. The dogs all fled. We lost half of our cattle, mostly the females. Aint easy feeding a village on one dairy cow. Anyway, after a few days, the animals calmed down. Calmed down a lot in fact. Got all weak and sick-looking. Started just dropping dead."

You listen as politely as you can and hope this is going somewhere. What they're describing is a minor pestilence, something far below the interests of the Study of Magic.

"It aint just the animals. The people have been feeling it too. Men been brawlin' in the street, afterwards they can't say why. Women have been..." The village elder trails off, and to your surprise he blushes. "... Let's just say they been asking for things that... aint holy."

"Hunger can make people act strangely."

"I know that! It aint the hunger. Hunder don't explain what happened to Jesse."

He ushers over a woman who lingers by the edge of the fire. As she steps forward, you can't help but be drawn to the heavy sway of her hips and the way it sets her arse jiggling. Even dressed in a filthy, brown, sexless smock, her body still screams sex. Her lips are plump and pouty, and an image of them wrapped around your cock fills your mind. Yet with such a wanton body, her behaviour is jarringly demure. Shyly avoiding your gaze, she seats her luscious behind on the bench beside the fire.

Joshua pats her hand gently. "It's okay, this man is here to help. This is Jesse..." the elder says to you sadly.

"Your... wife?"

"My grandson."

Now that gets your attention. Jesse hangs her head, looking ready to cry as her grandfather continues, "These changes happened over only a few nights. Just two weeks ago, Jesse was a happy young boy."

"Please, mister, can you make me better?" Jesse says quietly.

Unexplained violence. Wanton women. Sex changes. You don't wish to give them false hope, but you start to formulate a few theories. This screams of unholy magic, a demon most likely, perhaps a succubus or incubus. "Perhaps... I think I'm starting to suspect what is wrong with this village. Methinks a demon walks in your midst, and I think I know where it is..."

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. It is possessing Jesse

2. It is in the fields

*Noteb*
3. It is elsewhere

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
