Grey Order - Necromancy and Vicissitude

You had to go within the depths of the college, toward what represented the college of the Grey order. Rare are the students who actually dares to follow the cold dark ways of the order, after all. Rarer were whose that would actually study necromancy per say, given, unlike Vicissitude, the toll of using necromantic means had effects that only few could resist, let alone remain a living being.

Even if by nature, Vicissitude is often considered as evil, given most of the results end up in bad actions, it is actually neutral, as they affect the body with magical means, such as blessing of luck, and curses of weaknesses. And, generally, whose dealing with the undead commonly lose the ability of casting the good-sided parts of the Vicissitude spells.

The college, on its own, looks like some kind of underground castle, with actually quite a few torches, most of them lit, with access to what you got to know are crypts, rather often paired with a somewhat present of rotting meat. And while it is wide, signs scattered on the walls helps the newcomers and students to get around without getting lost.

As a new student, you had been tasked to go at one of the numerous library, to meet the main professor. Due to the lack of confirmed necromancers and potential teachers, compared to the other orders, thoses of the grey order often wise attend classes of multiple grades. Rumored as being among the most watchful, they have the full right of excluding students of the order, be it by inadequacy, incapability, non-respect of the rules, or simply that they became mindless undeads (Generally, they are thrown in the crematory.).

You meet up with other new students and some older students in what seems a mix of a library and a classroom. In front of a desk, on which can be found some bones and a human head, stands a woman in a dark cloak. Her cloak is wide, but reveals her feminine assets on her chest, as well as delicate, but creepily white, while looking they'd belong to a living being, feet. Having golden eyes, and well broomed long hair, you wondered if she was really a wizard. Let alone a necromancer.

Whispers and even a laughter could be heard from the other new students, while the professor grins and speaks up, 'Hello, students, and welcome to the newcomers to the grey order. I am professor Yamaw for thoses who doesn't know me, and will be one of your teachers for what i hope will be a fruitful study of seven years. Or the first one to burn you to a crisp.~ Accidents can always occur, after all.. But nevermind that, you will? We're not here to kill you, but to teach you the manners to living through the underestimate possibilities of the afterdeath. And.. Given some of you already lost focus.. Let me show a warning and possibility.. It could be quite painful, after all.~'. She pulls the left sleeve of her robe off, revealing what looks like a bone arm, except you could swear it was stolen from a lizard. 'As you know, necromancy gives you potential control over flesh and bones, and.. If you got the need to remplace a limb off, you can seek Dr. 'Lizard arm', is which myself!'. She giggles. 'Know that i also have a knack for breaking bones.. Especially from unruly little idiots..~'.

All the new students, including you, weeps in fear, while most of the older ones prefers to dodge the professor's gaze, visibly not really tempted to try their luck, or to feel her wrath. Eventually, your fear change into apprehension, as you grab the stub of what was left of your left arm.

When you were younger, you had quite the cold personality, while not quite disobedient, you weren't certainly among the most prudent, so much you strained where you shouldn't.. One day, you cot attacked by a hungry feral wolf. Given you managed to flee before he'd jump on you, your wound weren't directly mortal, but you wouldn't have survived, if it was for the lucky apparition of an undead that punched and made the wolf flee. It was controlled by a mage in grey, and even if he didn't quite smelled good, he still took the time to fleshcraft what was left of your arm, so it wouldn't bleed or infect. You wondered back then that why he didn't used your arm, given the wolf didn't quite managed to eat it away, but you suppose that it was stolen by the same mage that helped you..

The professor speaks up, 'Alright all. Here's the main rules. And quoting them back would certain not harm anyone: No harming the standing undeads nor living beings, outside of duels and certain circumstances. No reanimation with souls without authorization. Soulless constructions and golems are, on the other hand, fine, as long as the first rule is respected. And no rituals, even if you might eventually learn more about thoses. Especially the lich ritual. Thoses are exclusively reserved for grade 6 or higher, and never, *EVER* within the college. We are respecting a certain neutrality, and if you are caught disregarding our neutrality and/or rules, you risk getting excluded without further notice, and might get into painful situations. Like me breaking your bones.~ I heard broken limbs are the best way to make a human scream..~'.

One of the older students mutters, 'Lizard arm struck again, distilling fear in the newcomers..'. The visage of the professor harden up, like she was angry, 'What did you said?'. 'N-nothing!'. 'I prefer that~. Now, fellow students, guide the newcomers to the storage, the class still start soon.'.

The students move out, and you were about to, too, when the professor stops you, 'Not you. Not now.'. A chill goes through your spine, 'Y-yes, professor..?'. 'I've notice that you lost an arm. And given you're not skilled enough to repair it yourself, i'm willing you help you, this once. And don't worry.. I won't harm you. Yet~'. 'T-that's kind..'. The professor giggles, then leads you aside. 'You can refuse if you want. And if you want, i can pick parts for you. Your arm will be as good as new!'. 'A-and what if i want to choose..?'. 'Your choice.~'. 'Even an arm like your..?'. 'Oh, sure, cutie!~ But regardless of what you do, you'll follow class like the others!'. 'Y-yeah..'.
