"OK, Ma," Sarah said. "I know you have something to tell me. You are being too nice."

"I'm always nice," Sarah quipped. "But you know me too well. I have been thinking and the therapist is right. I want to get a new job. I want to find a new apartment. I want to find a woman and get married. I have been here too long. It's time to move on!"

"I know. I think the doctor is right. I just want to say that it was all my fault."

"Your fault?"

"Yes son. After your father died I just felt so lonely. I knew I should have encouraged you to go on, but I just couldn't do it."

"I could have left if I wanted to. It wasn't your fault."

"But a mother should do what is best for her son." Ben said with emotion in his voice. "I didn't do that. I should have kicked you out long ago. I shouldn't have let you stay so long."

"Mom, it wasn't your fault," Sarah insisted. The two stood up and hugged each other. They both knew that this was a turning point in their relationship and in their own lives. Both would move on from here.

Ben would stop acting like an old lady. He would fix himself up. Buy new fashionable apparel (clothes appropriate for a middle aged woman). He knew he wasn't a young girl anymore, he would need help to look good. He knew he would need a padded girdle to whip his butt into shape. He would also have to find a padded bra to help with his little girls on top. He might need a corset to put it all together too. He didn't care that it might be uncomfortable. The pain would be worth it. He would also start wearing makeup all the time. He didn't quite remember all the tricks he used to know, but he was sure there would be tutorials on the Internet. He would start to look for new mature friends. He wanted people to go out with. People who liked the same things as he liked. The same 'old' movies and he had always liked crafts. he didn't know when he quit but he would start anew. But even more than that card games and socializing with the ladies sounded like so much fun. He wanted to live again. The best years were a head of him. Just because you belong to AARP doesn't mean you are ready for the retirement home and death. If all went well he would find a nice gentleman caller and maybe get married 'again.'

Sarah was also making plans in her head. She would go to the job interview that Dr. Zamboni had set up. It was in a couple of days and so she had time to get an entirely new wardrobe. She really had little choice in the matter anyway, she must have lost weight since all her professional clothing was too big for her. (She didn't consider that they were too long also.) She would get a professional looking haircut. She would cut her hair short like they did in the marines. She liked that look and it would project confidence as she was applying for a managerial position. Once she had a job, she would find an apartment. That might take a while, but she was determined to do it. In the mean time she hadn't remembered the last time she had a date, she would reenter the single scene. Eventually she would get married, but to start she just wanted feminine company. She was feeling particularly virile right now and she would probably start with some casual relationships. She needed to get laid in the worse way. Sarah had told her son about her plans, but she left the getting laid part out. The days of telling her mother everything were gone.
