Wanda Maximoff and her twin brother Pietro had volunteered for Baron Von Strucker's experiments when he promised them a way to help them get revenge on Tony Stark. The two had vowed to get revenge on Tony ever since that fateful day when one of his Stark Industry bombs crashed through the small apartment and killed their parents. It stopped just short of hitting them. The two siblings lay in the rumble of their ruined apartment waiting for the bomb to go off but it never did. During those tense hours, the siblings vowed to go after Tony.
While the twins didn't know how Baron planned to help them, they were willing to try anything. Her brother had went first but she didn't see what they did to him before she was called. Dressed in a grey gown, she stepped into a medical lab. There was a staff that held a blue crystal shining brightly. The men behind the glass with computers and speakers asked her to state her name and status.
"Wanda Maximoff. Volunteer" she said.
The men behind the glass then pressed a button and the young woman watched as the sphere flew free of the staff and came floating over to her. It stood in front of her, it felt sentient like it was looking at her. For a moment she could only stare back. She slowly reached out a hand to touch it. When she did, she was blinded by a gold light until she saw the form of a figure that looked like her and then she fainted.
When Wanda woke up, she was in her medical bay room with a tv playing an episode of one of her favorite American sitcoms. It took her a second to remember what happened. She then noticed a bowl of porridge maple syrup and a glass of milk. All of a sudden, Wanda felt really hungry. She greedily dug into the bowl and began to eat fast..
"Wow, I have never seen you eat like that" Pietro said with a chuckle.
Wanda blushed slightly and then smiled as she saw his brother. "You know full well that I have always had an appetite" she said with a laugh. "I am so glad that you are okay. You look fine expect your hair is all white" she teased her brother.
"I still look good right, no?" Pietro asked.
"Of course brother dear" Wanda said before finishing her porridge and washed it down with a glass of milk. When she finished, she was surprised to realize that she was still hungry.
