Though she was still hungry, Wanda pushed aside those feelings as she had a lot of questions. "Did they take you into a room that had that floating staff?" she asked her brother.
"Yes, it came up to me and zapped me" Pietro replied with a shake of his head. He had never seen anything like it before. "Did it zap you too?" he asked.
Wanda nodded. "I feel okay, just hungry though" she admitted with a shrug. She moved to get up and walked over to the glass wall and put her hand on it. "I am so glad that you are okay Pietro" she said. As she did so, she noticed that her fingers movements caused a red beam of energy. "Oh my god, what is happening?" she wondered aloud, freaking out at first.
"Wait a minute Wanda. Does it hurt? Are you in pain? I expect not" Pietro said.
Wanda shook her head as she realized that her brother was right. She was in no pain.
An impish smile spread across Pietro's face. "That staff did something to us. I think it gave us powers. This is what it gave me" he said excitedly as he moved over to the other side of the room so fast it was like he teleported. "It gave me super speed. One side effect of these powers is a strong hunger" he explained. "So what is it that you can do?" he asked.
"I'm not sure but I am going to find out" Wanda said. She continued to make movements with her fingers and founds objects floating to her like her medical cart and a couple of kids letter blocks that had been left in her room for some reason. "I think my power is some kind of energy manipulation and telekinesis" she said. She began to try moving other things around in the room like a tv but it required more concentration. She tried to move the blocks faster to get the rhythm of moving objects around but unfortunately her focus was too intense and she broke one of the blocks.
If she had been hungry before, Wanda was really hungry now. "You are right about the hunger. I need more food" she admitted. It was then that she noticed one of Baron's men walking by. "I need more food now. I'm hungry" she called out.
