Until about a month ago, Mike had been just like any other seven-year-old boy on his street. A little hyperactive, but isn't that most boys his age? He has autumn brown hair cut short and neat atop his head, piercing blue eyes, and a slim build suited for the active, outdoorsy kid he was. And still is, even more so now that he no longer is forced to attending school with his peers and the other kids in the neighborhood.
A month ago, nearly every single adult and older kid in their city (and later discovered, the entire world) had shrunken to a mere two or three inches in height. The 'bug people' as they were now dubbed by all of the young giants, speculated about an experiment gone wrong, an attack from another nation, and anything else of the sort. However they chose to analyze the root cause, there was no changing that they were now small, and all of their children were in charge.
As you can imagine, the world was plunged into utter chaos run by little kids. Some were friendly and wanted to be helpful, and others viewed them as bugs or toys and showed no interest in their well-being. Mike was one of these boys, who in fact had joined a collective of other kids in the neighborhood that were on a mission to decimate the bug-people population. When he joined it was himself, his five-year-old brother Lucas, Matty, their nine-year-old leader, and little Davey, a two-year-old who just happened to be Matty's little brother. The four were on a mission to destroy, hurt, enslave, and all around just ruin the lives of the newly-shrunken bug people.
"It's so they'll never get big again," Matty had said in one of their meetings, "They'll just get big and go back to punishin' us and stuff."
Naturally, this struck a chord with Mike. He now takes his role serious enough to don camouflage shorts, socks, t-shirt, and hat. Lucas had used a sharpie to draw lines under his eyes for the additional sneaky benefits, and Mike did the same for him. All four of them don military-esque outfits, even little Davey, who often has to stick close to Matty or Mike due to someone having to be on diaper duty and teach the little guy how to rule with an iron fist. They were in charge now, and were out to prove it.
Mike was currently on a mission by himself in the adjacent neighborhood from his own. He was going door to door and searching the houses, looking for any big kids or adults to snuff or catch. The giant kids had discovered that the bug people are now also a great source of food, so most of the ones captured will be returned and shared with the group. He tries to catch the fat, juicy ones for this purpose.
Walking up to one residence, he attempts to enter through the door but finds it locked. Does he try the back, break a window, or something else?
