This choice: "Ramen, ramen, and more ramen, if you please..." • Go Back...Chapter #30"Ramen, ramen, and more ramen, if you pleas... by: Shademaster Naruto thought for a second. "Uh, I hear Ichiraku's is doing deliveries, now." He grinned at Kiba. "Do you think we could, ya know...
Kiba rolled his eyes. "It's always ramen with you, isn't it?" A quick look of disappointment flashed across Naruto's face, and the dog-nin couldn't help but laugh. "Ah, c'mon, lighten up." He smirked. "The voucher's good for all kinds of food, remember? We can totally do ramen." He rubbed his stomach. "Besides, after a few weeks of meat, ice cream, and baked goods, I could go for something a little different."
"Really?!" Naruto exclaimed, his eyes gleaming. "Thanks, Kiba! You're the best!"
Kiba chuckled. "Heh; you're just realizing that now?" Akamaru barked and wagged his tail while Naruto sputtered and glared a bit at the dog-nin. Ignoring this, Kiba made his way over to the phone, spinning its wheel and dialing Ichiraku's number (he'd actually ordered from them a couple of times with the voucher, contrary to what he'd said). Holding the phone up to his ear, he waited as it rang a couple times, grinning when someone picked up. "Hey, it's me again." He looked over at Naruto. "Yeah, we'll take eighty extra-large bowls of ramen, as many toppings as you can cram in..." he chuckled as he heard the speaker-probably Teuchi-sputter over the phone, and Naruto going slack-jawed and eyes widening in a mixture of shock and pure joy. "Yeah, I'm gettin' 'em for me and a buddy..." The speaker asked something, and Kiba smirked. "Yeah, it's Naruto; I figure we'll each do forty bowls each..." He thought for a moment. "...actually, tack on an extra forty bowls for Akamaru, extra meat." The dog's eyes bugged out. Kiba... he whined pleadingly. Kiba only looked guilty for about a second or two before he winked and continued speaking. "It'll take a while? That's OK, we ain't going anywhere. And yeah, I'm using the voucher." The voice on the other end of the line said a few more words, and Kiba grinned. "Great! See ya in a bit!" Slamming down the phone, he turned to Naruto and Akamaru, the former of whom had a huge grin on his face. "Well, Uzumaki, I hope you're hungry..."
As if to answer, Naruto's nearly-flat stomach-hidden beneath an orange tank top with Konoha's symbol on the front-growled. The blonde only grinned, rubbing it a bit. "Heh, you bet I am!" He yanked the waistband of his camo-patterned trousers. "Not to mention, I didn't get a chance to bust my pants at the bakery; figure this is as good a place as any to do it."
Kiba laughed. "Feels great, doesn't it?"
Akamaru whined, sinking to the floor and covering his eyes with his paws. The only bad part about them getting along? They're so much alike, they make each other worse...
As the ramen was still a good while away, Naruto and Kiba plopped down on the couch next to each other and decided to pass the time by making idle conversation, discussing past missions, their friends, their past eating escapades... honestly, they were just trying to pass the time.
Eventually, though, the doorbell rang. Grinning, Kiba leapt out of his seat, Naruto following closely behind. "Awesome, they're here!" As they rushed to the door, Kiba took a deep sniff. "Aaah.... I can already smell it..."
Reaching the door, he opened it to find... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
