Food Coma

Katie quickly opened her eyes again, groaning

"Can't fall asleep here.. I have a perfectly good bed at home." she thought to herself, reaching forward to start her car. She glanced down and met eyes with the statue, her stomach turning at it's almost pleased gaze.

"stop" she whispered at it as she turned it around and covered it again. She groaned and burped softly as she fastened her seat belt and drive home, each bump in the moderately maintained roads reminding her how painfully full she is. It didn't take long from that spot to get out to her neighborhood where she lived. Her job afforded her an income where she could purchase a small home perfect for her bachelorette life style. Pulling into her garage, she slowly got out, cradling her food baby and went to her room, dropping her purse and stripping from her work clothes. She glanced at her full-length mirror, recalling all the times she had checked her outfits before interviews or dates or nights out with her friends. Now a bloated woman stared back in her underwear. She gave a frustrated sigh and threw off her bra and threw on a shirt before crawling into her bed, falling asleep while her fingers gently rubbed her stuffed midsection.

Katie's dream was like a distorted version of "Veggietales" she had watched when she was younger. She stood in a large field, soft grass against her bare feet. She looked at herself first, she was naked, but otherwise normal. She look up ahead of her and looked up and up and up into the clouds. Before her was a giant chocolate bunny, like the ones for Easter, only she knew this one was solid. The feet were white chocolate, the legs milk chocolate, the torso regular chocolate, and then the head was dark chocolate.

Katie felt her stomach, it was like it had been that morning, slightly soft, but only enough for her to be considered healthy. She started walking towards the Bunny. Her walk became a jog as her stomach made some noise, her dream interpreting it as hunger, then she was running, then sprint; desperate for the Bunny. The grass was like carpet under her feet, her toes gripping it and occasionally pulling up some blades as she ran, but never got closer. Instead, the chocolate colossus only seemed to loom higher and higher over her, so impossibly larger she would normally wonder how it even stood under it's own weight. However impossible, Katie finally reached the Bunny. She lunged at it, ready to sink her teeth into the creamy white feet. She could feel her mouth become wet as she touched it.

Suddenly, the colossus shattered, Katie going straight through the feet and falling onto a slide of sorts. She slid down it face first ahead of an avalanche of the collapsing chocolate colossus behind her, chunks of chocolate flying ahead of her. As she slide entered a corkscrew, she could see a light coming from below, the light grew brighter as she slid further and further down. The slide straightened out suddenly and she saw the statue, mouth open and the slide going straight in. Katie felt chills go over her body as the eyes looked at her with a sort of "gotcha" energy. She tried to gran onto the sides to slow herself, or try to stop however she could, but it was no use, she was doomed to enter that great maw.

Katie plunged into the mouth, now falling head long down into it's gullet, where the light was coming from. She looked down and saw below her and endless pile of foods. Sweets, meats, veggies, and breads, all together, waiting for her to eat them. Her mouth became wet and as she happily dove head first in. Her vision went black as she landed flatly on the pile

Katie woke to a thud as she found herself tangled in her own blanket and on the floor next to her bed. She flipped and fumbled around, totally confused. She sat up, finally grounded, and pulled her covers off of her. She swallowed and gasped for air, a slight sweat leaving her as she calmed down, looking around her modestly decorated room in the pale moonlight.

"Holy shit, Mr Spiffy, what do you put in your burgers?" she asked aloud as she remade her bed and laid down in it. She tucker her arms under the covers and gently placed her hands. on her stomach, not a position she usually slept in, but before she could protest, she was back asleep. Katie slept through the rest of the night with no issues. She awoke before any alarms in the morning and stretched, feeling refreshed after yesterday. She got out of bed and thought of all the weird dreams she had had that night: the bunny, the slide, the statue. She chuckled to herself as she tried to recall how that old cartoon actually went, but shrugged it off, walking past her mirror and into her bathroom. She brushed her teeth and then showered, coming back out, she discovered that it was...
