Tom tells his mom.

Tom decided his mom, Robin, should know what happened. He walked into the kitchen where she was doing dishes and asked "Hey mom, can I talk to you for a minute?" "What is it Tom?" Robin asked "did you clean out the attic like I wanted?"

"Well...yeah" Tom said nervously as he noticed his mom hadn't even looked at him "but I found something up there that I think you should know about." Robin sighed in annoyance but still didn't look at her son. "Don't tell me, rats? I told your dad we needed an exterminator."

"No" Tom said with a hint of exasperation "not rats. Just look at me for a sec." Robin turned to do so and let out a gasp.
