"The fate of Equestria doesn't depend on me making friends!" Twilight Sparkle complained to her dragon assistant, her pouting slouch causing a fourth chin to appear. The carriage landed in Ponyville, the team of eight pegasus ponies carrying her panting hard. Twilight got off the carriage, which creaked audibly as her massive weight shifted about. Ignoring his employer's struggle to make a simple step down without toppling over, Spike hopped off and looked around.
"Wow, and I thought it was just Twilight..." he muttered under his breath. There didn't seem to be a single pony here under 200 pounds, and many probably beat that by a good margin. Even the pegasus ponies had pendulous bellies swaying beneath them as they flew. Pegasus magic was a funny thing, as obviously their wing size shouldn't be able to support even the thinnest pony of their size. So like their legs, how much their wings could lift was really a matter of strength more than one of aerodynamics, and a strong enough pegasus would be able to move even when their feet couldn't touch the ground. Twilight, on the other hoof, just tended to make movement unnecessary thanks to her powerful magic. Spike hoped that she'd get at least a little exercise walking around town today. And maybe if she made some friends she'd have something to do other than eat and yell at him when the fridge *somehow* was empty again.
"Just try, Twilight?" Spike pleaded, gesturing to a random pony walking down the road. She had to be as big as Twilight, but with bigger pouchier cheeks and more weight in her belly, which was only inches away from brushing the ground. Twilight's ears flattened against her head, betraying the fact that all self-important bluster aside, she didn't want to make friends because she didn't know how.
"Um, h-hello there." she tried, greeting the pink pony in front of them. Suddenly the pony gasped, and leaped up higher than anypony her size had any right jumping. In an instead she was waddling off, belly slapping hard against all four of her legs as it swayed against her.
"Oooookay." Twilight said. "Let's just get this over with. What's our first stop?"
Spike sighed. That had gone well. Pulling out his list, he read off Sweet Apple Acres to her.
"Alright, let's go." Twilight replied, getting her bearings. Spike walked beside her - you'd think with all that weight she'd be able to handle a little more and let him ride on her, but nooooooo
With a lot of huffing and puffing, Twilight made it to Sweet Apple Acres, spying-
