Chapter #7

An Enlightening (and somewhat worrying) Lunch

...was escorted out of her temporary grounds by her three bodyguards.

Tonight was going to start off simply enough, so as not to overwhelm the coddled heiress, with a generic walk about of the village and two take-out meals of lunch and dinner to get her warmed up to Konoha. While Ino was sure that Sanada wouldn't be too enthralled with walking anywhere for an extended amount of time, an opinion which she shared moments before picking up said Feudal Lady in a hushed voice, everyone was pleasantly surprised to see that the girl was in relatively good humor about walking around the village. Rock Lee suggesting a handstand competition around the village wasn't met with the same fervor; but that was to be expected.

No, today was going to be an easy day of relaxation and fun. Something that most ninja don't get to do very often with all the maliciousness surrounding their lives, so they all vowed to enjoy it very much. It was a unanimous decision to begin Sanada's first day as a Leaf Villager to bring the portly young lass to one of the local restaurants so that they may congregate peacefully while banging out the dents in their schedule of Sanada's guided tour. Ino's ideas mainly revolved around shopping; so much so that she even forgot that they were supposed to be treating their client to dinner as well, and had to cancel her option of a jewelry store to make room for supper. As self-serving as Ino's plan was, Rock Lee's wasn't much better; his plans were to meet up with his sensei, Might Guy, and take her on a first-hand experience of the greatest dojos in town followed by an extremely hearty supper of super-spicy curry. Hinata seemed to be the only one with her head on straight about the idea, thus explaining why it seemed that she was the one who actually did her job of guiding Lady Sanada around the Village... albeit rather quietly

"And, um, this is the Shibusen, its, um..." she stuttered noticeably as her shyness overtook her, "Well, I haven't exactly been here before, but my cousin Neji says that the food is really good."

And, despite it all, Sanada looked interested! Granted, her tastes were a little above those of the common people and so she wasn't exactly enthralled all the time, but whenever Hinata decided that something was important or interesting enough that she should know it, Sanada paid as much attention to detail as possible! Her interest first piqued at the Ninja Academy, having never been to school with other children before. After stumbling across the park, Sanada audibly lamented on how she had never actually been to one for an extended amount of time. And finally, here, Sanada was the most vocally interested at the Shibusen. "So you come here to eat?" she asked, sounding rather entertained with the notion, "That's actually a novel idea, I would imagine that it saves you time rather than just ordering, um, 'take out'; would you mind if we stopped here for some lunch?"

Even though that was actually the plan, Lady Tsunade's words echoed simultaneously between each of the three shinobi; in that they should do anything and everything possible to keep Lady Sanada entertained, occupied, and above all happy. "Uh, sure, that sounds like a great idea!" Ino said in an over the top manner as she started towards the eatery. "Absolutely, no doubt our bodies could use a bit of a pit stop!" Rock Lee said in a manner liking to Ino's, though without any of the faux enthusiasm it entailed, and started after her. "Wonderful!" Sanada said with a happy grin, "I've never had the pleasure to eat in an establishment such as this, forgive me if I'm a little green...

"Yes, a third course sounds wonderful."

Sanada was "green" at the beginning of this meal, there was no doubt about it. It was made more obvious than ever when she waddled up to the cashier and placed her order there. Luckily Hinata and Ino were there to spare her the embarrassment and after many apologies, a proper waiter was sent to their table. Again, Sanada's naivety shown through when she had trouble even reading the menu, having no idea what and where to look for what she wanted; even uneducated in what classified as an entree, dessert, appetizer, and so on! In actuality, this was due to her luxurious lifestyle of pampering; she never asked for an entree, she asked for a sandwich, so on so forth. However everyone was there to guide her in the right direction and soon enough, she was ordering her own meals like a pro. Not that she had a problem with giving orders or anything.

Everything started simply enough with normal conversation about the most generic of topics. Rock Lee, ever the people person, began with his long life story and his inability to perform ninjutsu and how Might Guy took him under his wing and his extreme rivalry with Neji Hyuuga and how Naruto inspired him and how Gaara almost crippled him for life but how Tsunade saved him and so on, so forth. Needless to say, Sanada was a little frightened of such a dark life story; having never been desensitized to anything more than a friend of hers catching a cold. Ino swept in attempting to salvage the Lee-centric conversation with a little bit about herself, but it really just became a narrative on Ino's life so far from there. Sanada was a little less scared, but a little more uninterested. It was Hinata who had the bright idea to ask her for conversation, and she began very much like the two before her.

She explained about her father, Lord Fuukuraida, and his many interests; among which was diplomacy between large nations. This led to many partnerships between many villages all around the ninja world, the Leaf Village as a pivotal poll in whether or not his very own land could come to fruition. Thankfully enough, the then-Hokage Sarutobi was kind enough to vote for his cause of establishing the Land of Shore which eventually became the Land of the Plenty after many years of specializing in shipping, growing wealthy as a village, and a congressional name change proposed only six or seven years ago. Sanada then went on to tell her a little bit about her own life; her childhood and how her servants had always taken such good care of her, the few friends she could call her own, and of her recently deceased father. Pleased of the interest her personal life seemed to garner, Sanada turned her attention back to Hinata; thanking her for the kind words and interest she had shown her before asking about her own life: namely if there was a certain boy she liked, to which Hinata could only turn dangerously scarlet and thank the Hokage that their first course had arrived.

Of course, that was a whole two servings of full-course meals behind them now; and Lady Sanada was only just beginning. Prior to their second course, everyone seemed to rise at once as if they were making their leave. Sanada innocently asked if they all had to use the restroom, and if such, could she join the two women as she too had to partake. Everyone chuckled nervously, but went along with her for fear of upsetting the sheltered client. This led to seconds after a quick pee break and then later thirds. Normally no one would have even dared think of three courses on such a strict dietary regime, but the customer was always right.

Rock Lee; having the most crazy, whacked-out metabolism available to him due to his insane training techniques, wasn't too bothered. In fact, this was just a little bit more than what he usually ate to keep a suitable amount of minerals in his body. He ate with his usual energy and only slowed down after about his second course was over. Sanada too, was just a little past peckish after being starved. She had eaten all the complimentary sushi rolls provided to the party, plus the mints, and even regrettably the wasabi sauce after mistaking it for a beverage. There was no issue of her being full here. However, it was Hinata and Ino who suffered the most, having nor a crazy whacked-out metabolism nor an ungodly appetite. Underneath her purple and gray sweatshirt, Hinata's belly rose considerably as it swelled taut and hard in her indulgence. And Ino, who had made the grave misfortune to sit where Lady Sanada could see her, had eaten all the same, plus anything that her client deemed "oh you must try this" worthy and stuffed into her mouth. Both kunoichi were ready to burst, far beyond their natural limitations for food.

"Well!" Sanada said with a satisfied pat to her stomach, "I'm satiated fully, why don't we try going to one of those clothing stores that Miss Yamanaka mentioned earlier, I would so love to get some commoner's clothes!" she said excitedly as she attempted to unwedge herself from the booth, "And after that, why don't we take a nice visit to the park so Mister Eyebrows can show me those taijutsu whatsits he was talking about."

"Joy!" Rock Lee said exuberantly, "I will make sure to wait outside the women's clothing store diligently so that no one may walk inside to peep on such vulnerable women!"
