The candies had such power and your greedy fifteen year old self didn't consider who sent them or why. You thought you was doing good by helping your friend. And when you put another candy in your mouth you was going to help your dad too. This is what you wanted to do. Later you would start to think about making your life better, but that didn't occur to you.
There was a reason for that. The candies weren't sent by a friend or someone who wanted to do you a favor. It was sent by someone who truly hated someone in your family. They could have dealt with that person themselves, but with this immense power that they had it was much more fun to make someone else do it for them. Now that you had taken at least two pieces of candies, you didn't possess the candies, the candies possessed you. They were going to corrupt you and lead you down the path that meant destruction. For the people in your family life would change radically and even though no one was killed or put in extreme pain their old life would be over and a new life would begun. Who was the target of this evil is hard to say. It might be you who is made to screw around with the lives of your family. Or it might be your sister who will see the changes, but not be able to do anything about it. Or it might be your dad whose life will change radically and not even know anything is wrong. Or it could be your mom who won't have any changes made to her directly she will blissfully go long as if nothing has happened even though what was her husband isn't really one anymore.
You meant to wish 'something nice' for your dad, but instead you start your wish with "I wish that no matter what happened everyone except Erin will think everything is normal and the way it has always been."
