Hayley felt she needed to talk to you and was about to enter the living room. Only she paused as you spoke.
"If these two books are practically identical so what works in one book should work in the other." you mussed. "Let us test that."
Hayley watched, curious, as you flipped through the pages of both books for a moment before speaking again.
"Here is a simple test." you said to yourself. "Solidifying fire. Easy enough through chaotic science and, judging by this 'magic' book, the process fairly the same only it involves a voice command."
You smiled, wondering if adding a voice really made that much of a difference as you could easily do it in your head. But then, it would not be a fair experiment if you did not follow the so called 'magic' book to the letter. You held out your hand and summoned your pyrokinetic flame once more then glanced at the magic book one more time before clearly sounding out the voice command.
"Pyro!.... Globious!"
Hayley held her breath. "That is just not possible!" she thought. "John is a boy! He should not be able to use magic at all!"
Then, as if in slow motion, the flame in your hand exploded as your chaotic science mixed with the 'magic' you tried, severely burning your hand.
"OW!" you yelled, shaking your charred hand. "Ow! Ow! Ow!"
You then calm down, summoning ice around your hand to soothe the pain away as you pulled a small recorder from your back pocket and hit the record button.
"Day 366. I have discovered a new type of science I will, for now call pseudo science that appears to be very similar to chaotic science. However, my first experiment with this pseudo science proves that they are, in fact, quite opposite, much like matter and anti matter. I MUST investigate this further as someone in this house is obviously practicing this strange new science."
Hayley began to panic. She knew that there would be consequences to him looking deeper in their family's secret but she was not sure how to stop him. Then, she gasped as she heard hurried footsteps approaching the living room.
