Hannah gave a nervous giggle. "You looked cute, John." she said before pouting. "How did you know I was there?"
You tried not to smile but you had a twinkle in your eye that always betrayed your true emotions. "Just because you were invisible doesn't mean I couldn't hear you, Hannah." you said. "The floor creaks, remember?"
Hannah blushed more than she already was. "I'll have to lean how to levitate next." she said.
Mom was not impressed. "Magic is not a toy, young lady." she scolded, annoyed. "Nor is it to be used to spy on or toy with your siblings."
"I heard that part when I saw you talking to John." said Hannah. "You also said that John had something like magic?"
"Do not change the subject, Hannah." warned mom, tapping one foot. "You are in serious trouble. I know you did not get a magic book from me so where did you get one?"
At first, Hannah was reluctant, her face turning slightly pale. "I found it." she said, softly. "It looked like a cool book so I started read it...."
"Where did you find the book!?!" demanded mom, growing impatient.
Hannah began to cry. "I'm sorry, mommy!" she bawled. "I didn't know I wasn't supposed to try magic!"
Mom sighed. "Hannah, listen to me. Magic is a powerful tool, in inexperienced hands, it can be dangerous. That said, learning magic by trail and error can get you or someone else seriously hurt." she said.
"Hannah, where did you find the magic book?" you asked, calmly.
