You immediately clamped your hand over your mouth, even though the scream echoed all over the room. Only, to your surprise and relief, Megan and Mel walked right passed the doorway, not giving you a second look. "We'll be upstairs." said Mel, seemingly not noticing you. "They gave us a mountain of homework today."
"That's fine." said mom. "I'll call you when supper is ready."
With that, Mel and Megan continued to walk up the stairs. Once the sound of Mel's door closing reached your ears, mom turned back to you, smiling. "I could have allowed them to see you but I need you to trust me."
You breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks mom." you said. "I believe you now."
Mom nodded, looking satisfied. "I'll change your clothes back now but understand, your sisters will have this power as well and they may not be as restrained."
You paled. "You mean... boys don't have this power?"
"Sadly, no." replied mom. "But you do have something else, I will be helping you discover this but I need your trust and patience as we will have to use magic against you to build your defenses."
Mom then rose her hand to change your clothing back to normal but, as she did, you heard the floor creek where it should not have and looked to see a loose floor board move down slightly on its own. "Someone is here!" you thought. "They are listening to this!"
You looked up and was surprised to be able to see mom's spell coming. Only your protective nature was above your fear of being seen in girl's clothing and you dodged the spell and charged mom. She let out a low scream but paused, confused, as you raced passed her and looped your arm around nothing. A low scream was heard as you heaved the invisible person into a chair that slid back on its own. Suddenly, the invisible person became visible. A gasp escaped your lips as you recognized who it was. "I thought I heard someone." you said. "How did you learn to become invisible!?"
Mom, also recognizing who it was, sighed as she then changed your clothing back to normal. "I am curious as well..."
