The Treasure of the Enchanted Tower
by: Unknown
New Forazio. Jewel of the southern reaches, the opulent city was screaming out to be lightened of some wealth. Though you had just arrived in the metropolis, one structure had caught your eye, even from afar. The Enchanted Tower, as the locals called it, was extravagance incarnate. Stretching into the sky with gem-studded parapets, the silver-stone ramparts were etched with richly detailed runes and arcane symbols. A single brick of that ornate wall could ransom a king or queen. You could scarcely imagine the treasures locked within.
However, after talking to some friendly locals, you learned that a sect of reclusive wizards called the tower their home. Wizards, as was your experience, were often anti-social hermits, usually more concerned with reagents and alchemy than amassing treasure. Clearly, these were no ordinary magic-users. But perhaps their unusual behaviour could be turned to your advantage. Although you could try and slip past their guards through their exterior garden, you wondered about another approach.
A charismatic outsider like yourself could leverage a deal with the secluded sect – perhaps as their ambassador to faraway lands. Wizards always needed new ingredients for their spells and cantrips, and for a small payment (of unimaginable wealth), you could fill that niche. Once you wormed your way into the secretive society, you could also pilfer artifacts at your leisure. And the unsuspecting mages would never know.
You approached the tower, and needed to decide on a course of action.
