Give it a chance...

There was a long silence on Luis's end of the line. Then, his voice rougher than it usually was, he asked "Why do you think we'd ever have to break up?"
Hannah blew out the breath she hadn't realised she was holding and shoved a hand through her hair. "I don't know, Luis. But what if? You know? If it did happen, I'd be minus half..." She stopped short, not sure she should say the rest.
"Of my soul." Luis finished for her. "I know. Oh, God, I know. I couldn't stand not having you near me, either. But don't you see that's why we're perfect? I mean, we passed the point of being polite around eachother when we were five. Now, what we see is what we get. And I don't know about you, babe, but I'm.."--he coughed, and Hannah could almost hear him blushing--"I'm pretty into what I see in you."
He sounded so... so Luis. Half sweet, half hot. Heck, all sweet and all hot. Here he was trying to sound like a character in a romance novel with his blush causing static on the phone. How could she resist him? Hannah laughed and knew that he'd hear it for glee instead of ridicule. "I see your point," she answered him between giggles.
Luis laughed a little, too...nervously. "So why don't we give it a go?"
Hannah went silent again..."How about we go on a few dates, ease into the whole situation?"
"Okay. Movies Saturday night sound good?"
"Yeah," Hannah laughed again. "If all else fails..."
"We can play Mystery Science Theatre 3000 with them. So it's a date?"
"...It's a date."
For an hour and a half after she'd hung up the phone, Hannah just sat there with the words "It's a date" going through her head. Oh Lord, she thought, what've I gotten into?
