As Johanna stood holding her axe, her belly jiggling from her sudden movements, Richard couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"Relax oh brave warrior of the North!" He said, smiling as he grabbed his pack, "I didn't mean to startle you, I just figured we should get going! Nothing ventured, nothing gained, y'know?"
"Oh, well yeah, I knew that..." Johanna said, nervously chuckling as she lowered her axe. "You're right though, we should probably..."
She was suddenly interrupted by her stomach grumbling.
"...really?" Richard asked smugly.
"What's THAT supposed to mean you puny jackass!"
"Nothing I guess! You have been out for quite a bit I suppose, so it wouldn't hurt too much if you ate one of your meals..."
Richard looked up at his partner, speechless as he witnessed her tearing apart the paper containing her ration and stuffing her snout.
As soon as she was done, she tossed the wrapper away and let out a small, satisfied belch, "Okay, let's go!"
They got their packs and gear together and mad their way down the tunnel, soon coming to a fork in the cave system. Nothing distinguished either path as far as either of them could tell, even with Johanna's keen canine senses.
