Chapter #5

Alex tells Andrew’s parents how Andrew grew

Alex arrives right behind the ambulance. He runs in and meets with Andrew’s parents and tells them about what happened to their son. Alex sits down because he feels dizzy too.
Andrew’s dad asks him if he drank any of the soda and Alex responds saying yes, just a sip.
Andrew’s mom sits next to Alex and notices Alex’s own shoes stretching and ripping. She tells her husband to pull them off before they suffocate his feet.
Alex tells him that his feet don’t smell too bad as Andrew’s dad pulls off Alex’s shoes exposing his lightly tan and somewhat dirty bare feet. Alex’s toes have grown in length and now his feet are about 16 inches long.
Just then, the doctor comes out and asks for Andrew’s parents to follow him. Andrew’s parents tell the doctor about Alex’s growing feet. He summons an orderly to bring Alex back in a wheelchair. Alex gets into the wheelchair and places his shoes in his lap.
A moment later, Andrew is seen on the gurney in the ER room with just a sheet covering his waist. His large chest and large feet are uncovered. When his parents come in, his mom nearly faints upon seeing her son. She is helped over and she comforts Andrew by lightly massaging his “big” big toe. She begins to tear up and her husband consoles her.
Alex comes in on the wheelchair and is placed on the gurney next to Andrew. The nurse helps him off with his clothes, leaving his boxers on. His bare feet have grown nearly to size of Andrew’s bare feet.
