"We'll give it some thought." you say rather plainly which leads to further pouting from Chelsea. "Look, we want to keep all our options open on all of this as this is a large undertaking. A place that works for me might not work for Frank or Joe and vice versa, you know what I mean?"
Chelsea still pouts but her expression softens a bit. "Yeah, I guess. I just hate feel like I'm being shot down; like you think my ideas are... are stupid."
"Chelsea, please. We don't think your ideas are stupid at all." Joe jumps in trying to be reassuring, "If anyone would have good ideas about where we should go, it's Chelsea Cooper after all." he says in a pitch perfect imitation of Chelsea's voice.
"Man, I knew about your ability to imitate voices but I never really thought about you imitating a female one." you say in complete honesty, "Don't know why."
"I never have much of a reason to." he replies still copying Chelsea's voice, "Besides it's not really convincing come from someone who looks like me. Now that I think about it, though, it might through someone off balance, eh?"
"The only thing off balance is way of thinking." Frank replies with typical grumpiness.
"Maybe, because I think I'll keep this up for a bit. Getting some practice in with off beat voices is good anyway." smiles Joe and at that point you're sure he's doing it more to annoy his brother than out of any sincere desire for practice.
You just shake your head and turn back to a very clearly annoyed and uncomfortable Chelsea. "I'm sorry about that." you say reassuringly, "Any other ideas though?"
Chelsea grumbles a bit but eventually relents. "All that's really left is... I don't even know what you'd call them." Chelsea states with a bit of disdain, "They're just a random bunch of people at this point. There's the underground for one."
"The underground? Who's in there?" you ask.
Chelsea shrugs, "Karl Hennepin for one. Jelena Petrovic, Fatima... something, the terrorist girl that hangs out with..." she stops at that and her face turns into a sneer, "That trashy slut Sienna Goldman. Ugh."
"Anyone else?"
"For the seniors? Just the ones who don't really have status. The ones who are there." she states rather dully, "Christine Coolidge or Bethany Lewis or Olivia Byrne from the swim team. Elle Moore or Audrey Briscoe from the drama club. That ultra-Christian girl Yvette Moore. Almida Jones and the girl's basketball team. Maggie Crenshaw and the softball team. That weirdo wannabe writer Laura MacGregor. That witch girl Morgana Hollis." She continues to rattle off names, she must have an encyclopedic knowledge of who's who you muse, but she does catch your attention once more, "...Ioeger, James Lamont, Jenny Ashton..."
"Wait, back up, who?" you ask.
"Carson Ioeger, James Lamont and Jenny Ashton?" Chelsea asks. "You're not considering one of them are you? All of these people would be a challenge but they'd really be one."
"That's true," you state, "but maybe it'd be good to put our ability to gain control to the test. If we could build someone like Jenny or Morgana or Laura up into someone who could wield influence and run the school that'd be great practice for the Stellae."
"Oh I don't know, Jenny's a cutie in her way. Right friends and it wouldn't be hard." Joe says this time copying Jenny's voice. Right, your anima, your memories. Now you're starting to get a headache.
"If you want difficult," Chelsea says with a bit of a smirk on her face, "why go with a senior?"
This grabs your attention and you eye her with confusion.
"Why not be a junior? Or a sophomore? Or, hell, a freshman?" Chelsea asks before adding, "There's this freshman girl, Amala Kapoor. Super pretty plus her dad's got some important position at Proteus or something so she's got money. Cara Fuhrman, new girl on the squad's, a junior and her friends aren't bad either."
"You said something difficult would be good." Frank states cautiously, "And while I'm not against training... lower grades might put it off."
"Stop pissing on everything." the once-again Chelsea-voiced Joe says, "Giving us a couple years of practice wouldn't be a bad thing."
"Joe, if you don't stop that, I promise..." Frank trails off.
"Promise what?" Joe asks teasingly.
You ignore the two of them arguing and focus on what Chelsea's told you. None of these choices are particularly good and like you've said they're all kind of difficult either because of unpopularity or having to play the long game. But you've kind of rejected every other option at this point so it's this or nothing it seems.
