Your parents are having a quiet conversation between themselves while surreptitiously watching you and Mike when your father gets a phone call. After a quiet exchange on the phone, he and your mother have a quick conversation.

"I'm afraid we're going to have to end the date early, Mike," your mother tells Mike. "A business emergency me and Celine's father have to deal with."

Your father sees the disappointed look on yours and Mike's faces and adds, "Sweetheart, I'm sure we can leave these two unsupervised for a short while."

There is a surprised look on your mother's face at your father's announcement, and her and your father have a quiet, terse conversation, the end result being
