You suddenly have a wave of exhaustion wash over you making your head sag slightly, you know instantly why it’s happened, whenever a spell is used it causes fatigue, but holding a spell will drain you more when you release it, or it wears off like now.
You quickly gather your dregs of energy as even now you body was becoming more and more tired. You got to get out, they have broken through the seal and they’re coming! The soldiers are coming!' Both dragons looked at each other in surprise then back at the egg.
'We must get it out of the cave, but we can’t let these humans get our hoard.' Said the male dragon, the female quickly replied, 'You can’t fight them all on your own! We must get our child away from here…' she trailed off then looked at the male who then looked at you.
'You! You can get our egg to safety! Please, you swore to not harm a dragon, but can you help us? Take our egg out the small passage way behind that boulder until we come for you. Together we should be able to ‘take care’ of the men, but we’d be unable to protect our egg.' His look showed he was desperate as we could all hear the war cry and fast approaching chain mail boots of the soldiers.
Understanding the importance of this, you nod and without anymore coercing, you jump up and run towards the egg, grabbing it, then ran down the tiny passageway the male gestured to. As you run through the passage way, you feel the large round egg you clutch to your body tightly. You occasionally hear small chirps, and strange noises from it as well as a few slight movements.
Soon you hear several horrific sounds of battle behind you, mostly of men screaming, even if they were out to kill innocents you’d never wish pain on anyone. Too late now… suddenly you find light, finally getting out into the fresh air you look around and...
