It's summer vacation, which means Tracy doesn't get up as early as she usually does, but she's still usually the one to get you ready for the day. Today, your mother Rachel comes to pick you up, meaning it's going to be a special day, maybe even week or month.
Sometimes it's a very happy occasion, meaning that your favorite babysitter is coming over to watch you, or you're staying at her place. Denise, your mom's friend from college is your usual babysitter, and you love it. She's pretty, she's nice, and she's gentle. The lovely chocolate skinned woman is your current crush, even though you're eight years old, a fair difference in age from the thirty two year old woman who's the same age as your mother.
Sometimes, though, it means you're going on a road trip to see your cousin's, who live far out of town on a farm. Which means you get to play with your favorite older cousin Josie. She's nine, but she's also a tomboy, she loves to play outside and play games you like to play. You two even have a way of going swimming together at the pond on the farm. She drinks a bunch of water and swallows you, and then you go swimming inside her as she swims in the pond. The only downside to going to their farm is that sometimes you get to know their animals a little too well, from the inside. Last time, it was Melody, a young mare they just bought, but the worst was the trip through Bessie the cow, four stomachs, rumination, ending up in a cow pie.
Most of the time, it means a trip to the mall. Those are fun, but you often worry that you might get lost. It has happened before too. One time, you spent three hours hiding under a shelf in one of the toy stores because Mom had accidentally dropped you and you hid because someone else wanted to take you home. Or there was the time that Mom let Tulip take you into the play area, and you ended up going home in the stomach of a girl named Mercedez. The only reason you got home was because her mom found you in her diaper and you know your home phone number. The only good to come from that is that Tulip now has a best friend to share you with, whoopie.
