Shinji wanted to be with Kaworu even if he was going into a dangerous situation, but the more he thought about the less certain he was about the idea. He wanted to stay by the side of Kaworu, but what could a normal human do to help an angel? If anything, he would be a burden and not aid Kaworu. Wasn’t that the story of Shinji’s life, he could never help another person, only slow them down.
“Is something the matter Shinji?” Kaworu asked upon seeing his friend and loved ones poignant face.
“Why me, Kaworu?” Shinji mumbled without looking at the face of the giant angel boy.
“Why not you Shinji?” Kaworu shot back with a warm smile. From what he knew of his human love, sadness was something that had been with him since the day of his mother’s disappearance. He had excepted Shinji’s sorrow, knowing that if he shows the love and warmth that Shinji had missed for most of his life, he would open up to him.
“I’m weak, cowardly, pathetic, perverted, whiny and frail, but you are none of those things. How could someone as beautiful and amazing like you, even care about someone as wretched as me?” Tears welled in Shinji’s eyes as he asked his question. Kaworu face remained like stone during the whole confession, not one emotion played across his broad face. Then he smiled, he smiled that heartwarming bright smile that he had only shown Shinji. The smile that made Shinji blush and feel so small in comparison to the other boy.
“Although misery has been at your side and loss your only companion, not a fragment of darkness has invaded your beautiful soul. Do you know how many Lilum have suffered so much worse then you and committed so many iniquity because of the pain. You have stayed pure and sweet like the fruit of knowledge, not allowing your suffering to cloud your soul. Out of the billion Lilum I’ve seen, yours is one of the few that shines brighter then my own.”
“That can’t be,” Shinji whispered. How could someone as weak as him have a better soul then an angel?
“It is true, your soul shines up the worlds like no other, and you are the beautiful one.” Kaworu words pushed the doubts and fears of Shinji’s mind. He could be strong, at least for Kaworu.
“How can I help you?” Shinji was going to help his giant friend no matter what it took. Although, he had no idea how he was going to pull that off. His Eva was at the bottom of Central Dogma, he didn’t think NERV would be to obliged to help him now that he’s sided with Kaworu, maybe Misato would, but his bastard father wouldn’t lift a finger. He knew that NERV would always fear what they could not control, was that why all their pilots were so emotionally weak, so they could keep them firmly under control? He would have to fight with Kaworu using what he had at hand.
“I see that you wish to be with my while I fight, I know of two ways you can help me. One I can recommend, the other will put you in more danger. You may stay in NERV and I will establish a mental link with you, from that I can use your soul as a boost to my own powers and have a more powerful AT field. The other option is a physical link, why you are placed inside me while I fight, much like what you do with your Eva. If you are inside me the link will be stronger.” Kaworu said in his calm friendly tone of voice, but at the second option his tone seemed to waver.
“But you don’t have an entry plug?” Shinji pointed out.
“I have no need for one. I merely need you inside my body for the link to be established. You can sit in my mouth and that is no more.” For the first time since meeting Kaworu, Shinji saw the boy blush. The thought of having Shinji inside his mouth was ether bothering Kaworu or turning him on, Shinji wasn’t sure.
“What will happen if you swallow me?” Shinji blushed himself; there could be a lot of sexual innuendo in his comment.
“Angel’s can’t digest meat, you would be unharmed if that happened.” Shinji nodded, now it made sense why Rei never ate meat. Did he want to take the safe rout and broadcast to Kaworu or put himself in danger and be placed in Kaworu mouth and give him more power?
