One moment Jared was standing in the library wearing jeans and a t-shirt while talking to Drew. Then, within a split-second, he was wearing his soccer jersey, shorts and cleats with shin guards and long, white socks. Lastly, before he could say anything, the quiet environment of the library suddenly morphed into the soccer field at the public park with kids kicking soccer balls around!
“Whoa! That was fast! I’m here!” Jared grinned, as a ball was kicked in his direction.
Jared was teleported to the park and he barely noticed. He just kicked the ball back, and it rolled to a few kids who were playing on an empty field. Jared was about to walk away when he suddenly found himself standing before a girl, who was also wearing a soccer uniform with cleats. She was short, muscular and she was Asian. She looked up at him and smiled.
“Wow! I didn’t see you there! You just popped up out of nowhere!” the girl grinned. “Aren’t we in the same school?”
“Oh, yeah. I’m Jared. I think I’ve seen you before!” Jared said shyly. He kicked the ball to her. She kicked it right back with her strong, muscular legs.
“Right… My name is Yoko. I remember you. I didn’t know you played soccer, Jared!” she smiled.
“I don’t play that often. I usually sit on the bench. I’m not that good…” Jared said quietly. “Hopefully I’ll get better now that my friend is helping me.”
“Oh, is he coaching you?” she wondered.
“You can say that. He can make me better in sports.” He explained.
“Oh, hmm... Again, I didn’t see you coming over here. You must be very fast!” Yoko added.
“Oh, that! I teleported!” Jared said honestly.
Yoko stopped and stared at him.
“You… teleported? And… How do you do that?”
“I dunno!” Jared just shrugged. “My friend sends me to places by way of teleportation. I don’t do anything at all!” he explained.
“So… Does he use a machine? A computer to teleport you?” she wondered.
“Oh, no! he just uses his mind!” Jared grinned. “It’s not that complicated.”
Yoko stopped kicking the ball to him and just glanced over at him in disbelief.
“Are you serious? So, your friend can teleport you?” she asked. “What else can he do?”
“Just about anything! He can do whatever he wants!” Jared shrugged.
“Who is this friend of yours? Is this some magician?”
“Oh, no, no, no! This is Drew! You know him. He’s in our class!” Jared smiled.
“And, he just has the power to make you do stuff?”
“Oh, yeah! He helps me with sports and schoolwork. I’ve gotten used to it by now!” he added.
Yoko looked at her cell phone and searched her contacts.
“Is this him?” she showed Jared.
“Yeah! You know Drew already!” he responded.
“I’m gonna tell him that I’m chatting with you right now and I’ll ask him about that!” she assured him.
“Sure, tell him whatever you like!”
After a minute or so, Yoko turned to Jared.
“Mind if I ask Drew to do something to you?”
“Nope!” Jared just grinned.
