Yoko, the cute Asian girl who met Jared in the park, also knew Drew from school. So, she started to text Drew using her smartphone after Jared had told her about Drew’s powers over him.
Yoko had always wanted to try flying a drone, but she never had the chance to try it out. She did download the app for flying one on her phone, but she never had the chance to test it on anything. So, she texted Drew and asked him if there was a way for her to test it on Jared. Drew replied back to her, instructing her to launch her drone app on her phone and to try to fly a drone using her app. He would make sure that the app would be connected to Jared.
“Oh! Drew says I can use my drone app on you!” she said to Jared, who was standing next to her while he was still wearing his soccer cleats and jersey.
“A drone app? But you don’t have a drone with you… Whaah!” Jared shouted as his body suddenly began to hover above the ground.
“Hey! It works!” Yoko smiled widely as she looked at her app on the screen of her cell phone, which she steered using her thumb by tapping the controls on the screen. “This is awesome!”
Jared felt his body ascending high into the sky, as he was in the horizontal position, before he began to fly a wide circle above the soccer field, almost 30 feet above the ground with all the kids looking on.
“Whoa! Yoko! Whooaaaa! Put me down! Ohmygosh! I’m flying!” he shouted at first.
Jared’s body flew over all the other soccer fields before gliding high over the fishing pond. From there, he sailed over the jogging path before circling back over to the baseball fields as Yoko looked on while using her cell phone to steer Jared through the air.
Jared just stopped shouting. He began to get used to flying around. He figured it would be fine as long as she didn’t make him crash into anything.
At one point she made him dive down and come close to the surface of the fishing pond, which made him panic.
“No, no, NO! Not in the pond! Noooo!” he panicked before Yoko made him pull straight up into the air again, barely missing the water.
Jared had absolutely no control over where he was going. Yoko was piloting his body through the air, making him ascend and descend again, allowing him to pick up speed and to slow down as he glided through the air.
All this was going on as Drew was making his way to the park on foot, arriving on the scene as he caught a glimpse of Jared flying through the air.
“Oh, no! My phone is about to die!” Yoko sighed, as he phone battery reached a low point. Luckily Jared was floating nearby.
When her battery died and the drone app closed, Jared slowly floated down and landed with his feet on the ground.
“Did you have fun flying around the park?” Yoko asked him.
“Uhh… Yeah… I got the hang of it…” Jared smiled.
Just then, Drew arrived on the scene.
“I knew the drone looked familiar!” he giggled, as he joined the crowd. “Did Jared make a good drone?”
“Yes, until my phone battery died…” Yoko said sadly.
Drew walked up to Yoko.
“I don’t need a phone to make Jared fly around, I just use my powers!” he chuckled, as Jared began to hover a few inches above the ground again.
“Gosh! I wish I could do that!” Yoko smiled.
“Okay! I’ll make a deal with you, Yoko!” Drew said to her.
