Yesterday, I got some unsettling news. I found out that a long time staff member at work was going into semi-retirement and it was going to be her last day. I also found out that we lost a job contract. The company who provided this job decided to go to another company because it offered more money. I really enjoyed working on this job, now it is gone. I woke up ill today. My boyfriend called me early because he's going to see "King Kong" tonight. There was another terrorist attack, this time in London, England. Four individuals are confirmed dead, 20 injured. |
| I'm still feeling lousy about my employment situation. The organization said they're going to find jobs for us, but that doesn't sit well with me. They've been promising us for years and only a handful of people I've worked with got jobs in the community. Even my social worker trust theses guys. It sucks knowing that a chapter in my life is ending. |
| My worst fears came true today. As of January 2019, the workshop will be closing. The staff tried to sugar coated, but it is lousy. The staff said they're going to look into the community to give us something to do, even if it's volunteer work. I did volunteer work in my 20's. I either work for money or else. | I'm a really lucky lady. My boyfriend had to cancel our date today because his mother had to rush his dad to the hospital. I was not at all disappointed. His dad is very, very sick right now. He did, however, made a surprise visit. I think he just wanted to show off his haircut, but that's okay with me. He looked handsome. |
| The last couple of days have been busy for me. We got the News on Thursday morning that the adapter company won't be sending any more work for a while. Thankfully, we'll have other jobs. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to Kitchener to an all day event. The dance was lousy, but the lunch and dinner were fantastic. We rode down to Kitchener in a stretch limo. I really enjoyed the Funtastic Fitness session. It was accessible to everyone, including people in wheelchairs. Now I'm not in a wheelchair, but I do use a walker and can't stand on my feet too long. This fitness class did not require anybody to stand up. It was great. I got a good work out. Although, I'm not sure how much did that do because I had cheesecake for dessert at dinner. |
| I went downtown today. i found out I'll have switch banks. My current bank is leaving town in April. I actually quite happy about it. My bank card expires this year and my interact card doesn't work in the stores. I won a coffee at Tim Horton's. Yesterday I won a donut. |
| I went shopping today and witness something cute. At the cash register, there was a little boy with his mother and he asked if he could have a sticker and cashier kindly gave to him. It was so sweet. I hoped to go out again tomorrow on my scooter. It's supposed to be little cold, but sunny. |
| Got some unsettling news today. The adapter company is slowing down a bit. We won't have as much product to work on. Meanwhile, I managed to find 157 good adapters today. I was on year sort. |
| I spent the day with the boyfriend yesterday. The Maple Leafs won again last night. The team continue to find ways to win. I watched my first Blue Jay's game today. Unfortunately, the Jays lost to the Tigers. Thankfully, it is only preseason. |
| Well, I've been quite busy the last four days. Tuesday - I spent the day at the laundry mat. They've changed things around there. The laundry mat now has two T.V.s and a latte machine. Wednesday - I went to the dentist for the final time. I got a couple of compliments on my new watch. Thursday - t work, I finished the day doing 154 adapters. I winded adapters in the morning and year sorted in the afternoon. My boyfriend gave me some bad news. He lost his second job yesterday. I felt so bad for him. Today at work, I tried to comfort him as best I can. Today I mostly did year sort. |
