What it's like to follow orders
They just disappeared
Like ghosts; like the herds of buffalo

Gone in the wind
Like a smile or some careless vow

By twos and tens
Like marching ants and grim lemmings

Only empty helmets remain
Like white crosses in a field or a mother's hope
