in good there is evil, in evil there good, and in silence there is horror yet also: beauty |
When do you find silence, outside of the time you sleep tight? Is it during your imagination, dreams, or maybe in the dark late night? If it's out of your reach, then my condolences, yours is indeed such a great loss To have your life stripped of it is to miss the chance at confronting many of your flaws Yet it's not quite the heavenly blessing I might make it out to be For silence has always also been a horror clear for everyone to see However, it is the benefits it has that most people tend to undermine So allow me, someone who lived years in silence, to try and make them shine First is a clear mind you get, when there is no noise to disturb As some thoughts need focus to be confronted, or they'll turn to desires hard to curb Second is a relaxing chance, for those outpaced by reality By casting it away the mundane sounds of everyday, to preserve one's own sanity Third is freedom of thinking, far from the whims and thoughts of others To shape your own ideas without distress, without any influences to bother It is those three that I find fascinating the most, among the many gifts that silence provides But as I said before: it is also a horror, one so great at times that it is hard to hide Just imagine the pain of wanting to share or to love but no one is there to respond Or being cast away by everyone, with silence as your one and only true bond That is silence: a duality one needs to be careful around A beautiful horror that breeds sorrow at times, and for those seeking wisdom: a much needed and refreshing "sound" |
