Something I wrote about someone who isn't in my life anymore
The thick September air,
With gentle, awakening stares
Weighed
down
with wordless, watchful intent.

Surrender to the chase,
refusing to be late.
He stands still in the wake of it all.

Sneaking glances— is this a game?
Softly, shyly,
seeking eyes meet.
More than anything, I want his name.

Wheels turning, bodies swaying
Obscuring
yearning eyes.
More than anything— I want his name.
