That foolhardy day, in the second month of May
Is only for love sick fools.
How can they think that on that day
Someone will start to drool
With desire, lust, or even love?
It’s just a day for making money.
Flowers, candles and turtle doves?
The very idea turns my tummy.
Get real, you, with your head in the cloud,
It’s all a load of baloney.
Cupid would need to holler real loud
To help a guy like you from being lonely!
A bunch of flowers ain’t going to cut it,
Nor a warbling song, straight from your heart.
A diamond might do. You know where to put it!
That might be a good start.
Tell Cupid to get lost
Take his bow and his arrows too.
You’ve realised it’s just going to cost
Times have changed; It’s sad but it’s true.
