This is a poem goes in depth on how everyone can hurt sometimes.
You lay up so many sleepless nights,
Because your mind won't let you go to sleep without a fight.
You try to ignore the thoughts that keep you up,
But you can't drain your feelings out into a cup.
You can't simply save them and drink them when you want,
No matter how much it keeps you up with a haunt.
Because you lay there wishing you could erase them,
You wish you could hide them deep within a stem.
Only you have to face them when you think of it most,
Because if you don't they would haunt you like a ghost.
They take over who you are,
They will take it way too far.
Because everyone tries to hide their emotions,
They let their body go in constant motions.
Going about their everyday like nothing hurts,
Covering them up with bright colored shirts.
They pretend to be happy,
They go as far as making it look sappy.
When really deep down their hurting more than you will ever know,
They just expect you to go with the flow.
Acting like nothing is wrong,
No matter if it takes too long.
They'll keep on pretending because they don't want you to worry,
So they keep themselves busy in a hurry.
I wish these people knew it was okay to hurt,
That they don't need to cover it up with their bright colored shirts.
Because everyone hurts.
