SHE SHED TEARS A Non- Fiction Book She Shed Tears I cannot count, I cannot measure With all the words that I treasure I can only feel the tears I shed The pain in. my heart that bleed. Every line that this story being told With this gift of writing GOD bestowed Each paragraph that my pen strokes All that I am it evokes. Chapter 1 A barrio girl with a long, straight jet hair and wears the most beautiful smile, with a pleading aura of friendliness, confidence, with and charm. At age 19 going 20, never been kissed, never been touched, never been loved, tall and slender, this barrio girl works her first office job as a Front Office Staff in the city. It was not a work or a job she was seeking for when she went to the city with her cousin, the accountant of the hotel, telling her : "Want to see a very beautiful place, with swimming pool, with recreational facilities like bowling alleys, pelota and tennis courts with the most lovely gardens which are all printed in this brochure. COME WITH ME " "You can stay overnight at our place. There is an extra bed in my room that no one is using. You may go home the following day. My younger sister Marian will be sending you off at the bus terminal so you will never get lost in the city." She asked permission from her Papa and Mama with the assurance of her cousin , telling them : " I just want to show her the beautiful place that I work, then, she will be home the following day. I will shoulder all the expenses including her pocket money as my treat. " Her parents agreed. They took a tricycle to town at five in the morning and took the bus to the city at five- thirty in the morning, arriving in the city at 8:30 in the morning . Her cousin's reporting on duty time starts at 8 :00 A.M. She told her : " My employer will understand why I will be reporting late as they knew that I went home to the province. " They took a quick breakfast of Hot Pan de Sal, scrambled eggs and a Mug of steaming hot Milo Choco drink, then brushed their teeth after meals, combed their hair and took a taxi to the hotel where her cousin worked. They did not take a bath and did not change their clothes. She was wearing a black color mini skirt, a white sleeveless blouse, a sandal with a half- heel. She made herself fresh by putting Johnson's baby powder in her armpits, face and neck. Then splash a Baby Cologne in her hair, elbows, nape, below the ears and wrists then placed them back in her big cloth shoulder bag where inside : a hairbrush, a wallet, a very small flashlight, a set of bra and panty inside a small plastic bag and a small kit with a few tablets for fever, diarrhea and three pieces band- aid . There's also a small tetra pack of mango juice, two small packets of crackers, preparing always, following a Girl Scout Motto when she was in grade school " Always Be Prepared !" The paper bag that has a pair of clothes and a pair of bikini panties were left in the room of her cousin. Chapter 2 FLASHBACK She belongs to a very close knit family in the Southern part of Cebu, about a hundred kilometers from the Queen City Of The South, Cebu City. Her barrio is called Basdiot , meaning Little Sand, and she lives in the area of the barrio called Panagsama Beach. Panagsama, meaning Brotherhood and in the town of Moalboal. She firmly believe that maintaining an unbreakable bond with her parents and siblings is essential to her positive direction in life. A happy, cheerful, smiling lovely young lady.. Her loving father, a village chief or a Barrio Captain and is popularly known for his great wisdom is highly admired and respected by all. Like his daughter, he is also famous for being a man with the most beautiful smile. He loves to reach out to people from all walks of life . He was known as the greatest fisherman in his younger days.. Her mother works as a beautician and a dressmaker and everyone calls her mother, The Pretty Hairdresser. She was taught to always have the good manners and right conduct as well as all the siblings too, to have a strong faith and trust to The Most High and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, always . She has three older sisters and with much respect she called them : Inday. - the oldest. A. K. A. Lindy Ate. - the second oldest Helen Manang - the third oldest She always considered Manang as her very own Hero and in so many ways her Idol as the most brilliant who graduated Valedictorian in Elementary and High School and gain a free College Education Scholarship sponsored by Gerry Roxas, the very famous Senator at that time. Her Manang Evie. The main character of this story, is the fourth and the youngest and Papa's dearest Girl.. her name is Myrna and her nickname is Naomi. Next to her are her three younger brothers: Dodong or Nelson Nonoy. or Jersey Boy. or Eldie She is closest to Dodong as her playmate and partner in the many adventures in the sea, like swimming, rowing and sailing the boat, fishing and many activities. She's always the very loving sister to her brothers and her brothers are very protective of her . To be Continued....
