Pokémon Information

I have been thinking about it for a while, and with how big my story descriptions get due to all of my information, and since I can currently have up to 20 items in my portfolio, I've decided to post some of that stuff as lists in separate items and just put links to them in the story descriptions, so that people don't have to keep scrolling through that large amount of text if they don't want to.


Any character that exists in the franchise is allowed to have an anime counterpart. When it comes to Leaf and Green, in the main series games, Leaf is the gen one player character, who doesn't exist if Red is around, while Green only exists if the gen one player character is Red, and starts her journey in the time directly after the events of the game. Leaf is the version for the anime.

In the anime storylines, the characters actually age, or there is an age lock that is removed after the storyline starts, unless stated otherwise, and different regions have different starting ages for journeys to match. I'll give Ash's age throughout the regions, along with some others. Unless stated otherwise, the traveling companions and rivals begin the seasons the age of the regions' starting ages. If you think I've forgotten any rivals that are significantly older, let me know.

Kanto: starting age, 10. By the start of the Orange Islands arc, all characters debuting in Kanto have aged a year.
Ash: 10, of course (11 by the start of the Orange Islands arc)
Misty: 12
Brock: 14
Jessie and James: 18
Tracy: 14

Johto: starting age, 11
Ash: 11 at the start, but becomes 12 shortly after

Hoenn: starting age, 13
Ash: 13
Max: 10
Solidad and Harley: 18

Sinnoh: starting age, 14
Ash: 14
Nando: 18

Unova and Decalore Islands: starting age, 16
Ash: 15 (due to not being from Unova, he's okay)
Iris: 16 (only about a month older than Ash)
Cilan and Bianca: 17
N: 18
Alexa: 20

Kalos: starting age, 16
Ash: 16
Bonnie: 14
Alain: 20

Alola: can graduate school at 18, but can go for longer for improving credentials (can only be a trial captain after two extra years)
Ash: 17 (turns 18 right before the league)
Gladion: 18
Lusamine: chronologically, 42, physically, 23 (explained below)

Journeys (Galar: starting age 18):
Ash: 18
Goh and Chloe: 17, almost 18 (didn't start their journeys right away, made under 18 since they were both still in school)

All of the mothers of main series playable characters got pregnant while 16, except Caroline, who was 18.

Lusamine was 21 when she had Gladion. In my stories, anime Lusamine was affected by a Nihilego like in the Sun and Moon games, but here, Wicke and Burnet were there, and quickly got her checked out, discovered the toxin, and with the help of some "Z-Power" energy, managed to make a cure. The Nihilego had energy from an Ultra Wormhole, which had a side effect other than making her insane and fanatically obsessed with Nihilego, it affected her body, slowing down her aging. She was 23, and started aging one day for every month. She doesn't know she's aging slowly, and believes she is just aging gracefully. Being pumped fully of energy from an Ultra Wormhole (such as being fused with a Nihilego infused with it) would fix it.


For Fictional character suits, there are suits matching the age locked ages, but also suits for what their actual ages would be based on the list I made. Someone wearing a suit can go into an age-locked universe, or a universe where the characters actually age. For Fictional girls taken and Fictional character suits, in the case of being in an age-locked version, unlike for the other stories, the age lock won't necessarily be removed.
