The very first chapter to my book. Please leave feedback :)
Petrified. Terror seized every fibre of the fleeing Man. His whimpers and cries echo through the deep dark extensive alleyway. A feeble light on a broken lamp pole creates obscure shadows which creep around him as he rapidly propels himself forward on foot.
Since way out of this gloomy nightmares is unperceived and there's no means of escape in sight, panic forces him to frantically look around for an exit.
His surroundings are consumed by heavy fog cloaking the world with an eerie shroud of opacity and there appears to be no way out.
It feels like he's been running for forever, minutes stretching into hours, but it feels like days since every second seemed to last an eternity. His heaves and pants strangle him and his heart fiercely pounds against his rib cage, ringing out like a giant bell. Each throb echoing his desperation to flee the unseen danger.
There's no more air left on the planet to satisfy his aching lungs. Whatever shadow haunts him through the night with clear intentions to torment him is here for nothing but vengeance.
Chills crawl up his spine as the shadows presence radiates all around him in waves of terror. Like it's an arm stretch away ready to capture him and sever the thread of his existence.
The rhythm of his footsteps seem to slow down as his breath escapes him. No matter how hard he drags his body or how much he pleads with his muscles, warning them that he'll be taken and tortured If he slows down, his footsteps falter, each step heavier than the last.
The creeping figures presence comes closer to unveiling itself with every echoing stride it takes the deafening thud, thud, thud on the concrete ground a warning sign to it's prey.
It no longer walks it //// With murderous intentions outweighing the speed the man ran, coming closer and closer, he feels like brushing against his back yet it’s still not present and he's walking out of time.
He turned a corner and firmly pressed his back against the wall. His chest sticks out as he attempts to catch his evading breath, but he holds it in as he turns his head around the corner, beware of the ominous mystery. He checks to see whether it's still lurking around to take the role of his suffering.
However his eyes are met with nothing but a ghostly mist that has taken over and captured the world around it by now. thus he takes his head away and faces forward again, as he presses his back against the wall in deceiving relief.
Sweat melts down his skin despite the icy temperature and he finally lets out the breath he's held hostage in his lungs. Condensing into the cold night air creating the same cloud sensation as his surroundings and he watches as his breath joins the fog which embraces him in a lazy dance
He's aware that it's best to leave as the psychopath might be grasping at his till to kill him put without warning the shadow reveals itself through the fog, the nightmare finally taking shape.
